I actually think Shadowman, or even Mirage, could be the more interesting movie for Valiant. I almost see it being handled more like a horror movie type approach given the characters and elements involved. I actually think it would work better as more horror and less super hero/action movie for Shadowman.BugsySig wrote:I think there’s a difference between a movie franchise and a cinematic universe. I think Bloodshot could be, and very well may become, a movie franchise. Maybe even combined with Harbinger, there could be 3-5 films.
I am less enthusiastic about the prospects of a VALIANT Cinematic Universe that includes all of the tent pole characters from A&A to Shadowman to XO, etc. ultimately leading to a Justice League/Avengers type movie mashup. Ninjas Vs. may be the closest we ever get.
Bloodshot/Harbinger are obviously the safer movies for Valiant early on, because they play more like your action movie fare. But some of the beauty of other Valiant titles is they range the gambit in terms of how you classify them. X-O would be more scifi, Shadowman is more horror-action, Ninjak would be more of a spy/espionage thriller, and if they did an Eternal Warrior, I guess I'm not sure on this one since you could go a couple ways, but probably action. Hell, even Divinity I think would make a cool movie, though that one would take time to build to I think.

Ohhhhh how AWESOME it would be to see a R rated horror/action type Valiant movie. Like Deadpool broke the mold... I think this would as well. I REALLY like that idea. I'm kind of tired of the Star Wars/ Avengers solid action and cramming to much plot into these movies. Lets have a GREAT story with some meaningful build and a little action. Yea I said it... Little action.markie7235 wrote:I actually think Shadowman, or even Mirage, could be the more interesting movie for Valiant. I just want the "action" to have consequences and used in the right context.

I mean, kind of like the Netflix show Jessica Jones did with Killgrave, when you really look at what's going on in Shadowman, if this were real life, this would be a horrific nightmare. Demons breaking through from a horrific dimension...Being possessed by a malignant voodoo spirit...finding out that necromancy is not only real, but there's an extremely evil one trying to burst through from this other dimension. I mean when you put all these things into the context of our world, this would not be some romp of explosions and action, but the stuff of nightmares and insanity. I mean we're talking Lovecraftian type stuff here that realizing these things exist would drive the average person insane. The best way to play this would be as horror movie with some action, not as a standard super hero flick

Having thought about this a bit more, even if Bloodshot crashes and burns I imagine we will eventually see a Harbinger film as well as other Valiant characters. I mean even if they can't pull of a cinematic universe, they didn't buy Valiant to give up if one character doesn't work. Could easily see a bunch of random standalone films and TV shows being made if they can't build a universe.
