Cool, understood. I think we can debate what we liked or didn't like about the material without having to fall into black and white camps of People who love everything vs. Haters.

Many people point out positive aspects, which is great, but some constructive criticism is also useful, especially since Valiant seems to be on the cusp a either a whole new direction or getting out of publishing altogether. Looking at the VEI run from afar, with all the investment put in (of money, hard work, talent, etc) and some books that have sold a lot, to still be sitting at under %1 of market share in a steadily shrinking market can't be what they had set their sights for. As fans we need to speak up with what we love and don't love about what they put out so they don't disappear again.

I wonder if you mean Ryan Mclelland (sp)? I remember him posting here and being involved in some various projects.

It seems like an interesting time for the comics industry, and one has to wonder how much DMG will value a publishing arm if their primary concern is movies. Will it be worth all the trouble and investment to just sell 5,000 copies and then end up having to change everything for a movie anyway? What Valiant really needs is a book like Walking Dead or Saga that can really grab and hold the attention of the general comic reading crowd. But if that was easy to do, everyone would do it

+1 The only issue is that The Walking Dead and Saga work because there is no expanded universe that they need to tie in to. Unless VEI/VMG restart the universe with one maxi book per month and maintain ridiculous quality (as Ryan has mentioned, if it was easy...) that model won't work.
This is what happens when you try to work...

Oh, I've long forgotten everything I ever thought I might have known about calculus. It's amazing how much room that freed up in my head.
