Does anyone else think that all of valiant dude’s posts *SQUEE* on Dinesh and sucking Shooter’s dick are because he is, in fact, Jim Shooter? :?

No way. It's far more likely he's a Defiant1 wannabe... that guy is an expert on everything (including dating Playboy models, seriously, he claimed that online), and if it's post-Shooter, it's garbage. That dude has to be somewhere... perhaps he's still a self-proclaimed valiantdude. But valiantdude's posting style is too stream-of-consciousness. It's unlikely that he's much more than an old-school Valiant fan who hasn't actually read the new books and thinks Dinesh was trying to make a $100million web-series to give away for free, instead of a B-movie live action series which is exactly what was intended. In other words, someone who pops in from time to time, since 2004, to pretend the good old days can't be topped (but hasn't checked or doesn't see reality) and to tell us all to get off his lawn because we're whippersnappers.

you guys...holy cow...haha
boh... why put that image out there very immature..
I know they have movies for those types of things, no need to bring that here...at all
greg, cmon dude, please read the post through before commenting..greg you made many posts about your love for jim shooter, when you thought he was going to be eic of vei, are u going to be accused by children of being a *SQUEE*....jesus dude....nice
yes, I've made contributions here, finding that reading rainbow video, and that lost timewalker/solar comic just off the top of my head..dude I was the first person that ever posted here...gimme a break..
comparing vei comics to marvel and dc, and saying they're so much better...who cares?
those comics are complete *SQUEE*, less than zero, so what's the point of comparing?
wow, people made these books for those fans, of less than zero books, not hard to do better than less than zero, Valiant could have reinvented the whole genre, but instead made comics for comics fans only, the 10000 people... and so far still is pandering..
I've outlined several strategies over the years here that I thought would help vei, some of them they seem to have tried...I suggested they needed an eic...within 3-6 months they had a eic, I suggested they have solar, turok, and maguns analouges, within 6 months they had those too..
I'm not taking credit for those things, but if you go back and look at those posts, it did happen..
greg, I don't know if ur blood sugar was low or what, but you've been neutral to positive for the last 16 years to me, so why the change now?..
people are allowed to have dissenting opinions, that's what make life fun, unless you are a weak child, that needs to live in a safe space echo chamber..
tthis is a forum about my favourite comics, with my favorite artists and writes, and characters, it's art, and there is nothing strange or wrong with being into art.
.so what's the problem...I can't share my opinion in a forum I've posted on for 16 years? yes 16, because it started in 02, still don't know why it says since 04...it just crashed that year..
anyways...
one thing I would done to make veis universe way better, just off the top of my head, wold be to establish the conflicting corporations, that was part of the essence of vh1... having aric not being the head of orb industries was the biggest *SQUEE* up for that book, then he becomes the king of some country...lame.. facepalm .. having different layers of conflict made it a richer universe..
so that's just 1 of the many balldrops.. in my eyes..

greg how the hell do you think I am defiant1? really? you were the one who remembered my old webtv email address from 2003, jesus
you guys are losing it..okay sorry dinesh got canned, i *SQUEE* bought all the the valiant comics on dvd from dinesh in 2005, when he was selling bootleg copies on this site! Remember when he was selling them? I still have the discs with his handwriting on them!!
he didn't do the right job...now he's gone..
why does it have to be so extreme? no i didn't want a 100mil webseries, but i didnt want this low low budget look either..I still love comics, I've read most of the vei comics (believe it or not)...
and they didn't cut the mustard, sorry, some did, but not enough..theit sales numbers are *SQUEE* period, total *SQUEE*..and it's because they had the chance to remold something and chose to pander
..

You seem to be under the impression that I'm silencing your dissenting opinion, but I am vigorously disagreeing with it.

You have the right to be wrong as boldly as you like and I have the right to join the crowd who's telling you so.

Continue if you like, but rest assured, you won't be unchallenged when you proclaim your superiority to the rest of us.

There's no way Aric heading Orb Industries is the missing piece that keeps Valiant selling 10,000 comics. Seriously, more corporate drama is the answer? I assume you loved The Phantom Menace because the trade blockade was the best part.

You post, we post. Freedom at its finest.

So, when every title from every publisher sells one-tenth of the number of comics they sold in the 1990s because there are one-tenth the number of comic shops, it's Valiant's fault that they sell one-tenth of their old numbers because they're not cutting the mustard?

Perhaps you've been enjoying too much of your own cutting the cheese.

Quite the discussion.

I can understand those who didn’t care for the web series given their past love and expectations of Valiant. I liked the web series for what it was, I think as most here did.

I can also understand that it pains some fans that we get the b-cut as the big 2 establish themselves in the hearts and minds of a whole new generation of young people through Hollywood shared universes. Valiant invented THE best shared universe!

So the question is are you a half full kind of person or a half empty one. I am half full. It has been amazing to see our favorite characters brought back to life. VEI has been fun, entertaining and nostalgic. I choose to think great things are coming, and am excited for change.

Lastly, *SQUEE* on Dinesh is uncalled for and a cheap shot. Don’t come onto the forum of folks that so appreciate what he did by reviving Valiant and publishing great new stories and spew nonsense. Why is anyone even on this site if they don’t care for VEI. Go read you old Valiant books. Time will tell Dinesh’s legacy. It is way to early in the grand scheme of things to make judgement. My bet is that his legacy will be strong and cherished when all is said and done (half full!).

My birthday was my forty-twoth, so this year I will tell the truth.

Jim Shooter was awesome for Valiant in the 1990s.
Dinesh Shamdasani was awesome for Valiant in the 2010s.

Valiant sells 1/10th the number of comics they used to because every publisher sells 1/10th the number of comics they used to.

Ninjak Vs was a B-movie style web-series because it was supposed to be a B-movie style web-series.

People who disagree with any of the above may be informed that I disagree with them.

I hope you guys are ready for that level of no holds barred brutality. It's completely unheard of, I know, for this is the rainbow road of G-rated marshmallow puddin' pops internet superhighway. Strap in, kiddies, there might even be umbrage taken this year! Umbrage, I say! *the horror*

superiory? I have no superiorty, I just have a different opinion...
and if you look at the results of the decisions of vei, it didn't lead to the level of success they were after..
so if the results suck, it means the decisions were bad..
pretty basic
no orb was not the be all end all, it was just one of the many elements that made vh1 succesful on the storytelling side..

One score and seven years ago our fathers
brought forth on this globe, a new universe,
conceived in Valiance, and dedicated to the
proposition that all comics are NOT created equal.

Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing
whether that universe, or any universe so
conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.
We are met on a great wide web of that world.
We have come to dedicate a portion of that web,
as an opinion resting place for those who here
gave their support that that universe might live.
It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate—
we can not consecrate—we can not hallow—
this messageboard. The Valiant men and women,
living and dead, who struggled here, have
consecrated it, far above our poor power to add
or detract. The world will little note, nor long
remember what we say here, but it can never
forget what they published for us here. It is for us
the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the
unfinished work which they who labored here
have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for
us to be here dedicated to the great task
remaining before us—that from these honored
former creators we take increased devotion to
that cause for which they gave the last full
measure of devotion—that we here highly resolve
that these creators shall not have labored in vain
—that this universe, under administrative
oversight, shall have a new birth of freedom—
and that ValiantFans.com messageboard of the
people, by the people, for the people, shall not
perish from the earth.

Glory, glory, hallelujah...

I still have the bootleg dvds that dinesh sold me for $10, I then made copies and sold a few on the board as well back then...it had all if vh1 and even some vh2 and vh3 stuff.(and miracleman...that's was an awesome bonus)..apparently he pulled them from irc channels...Remember those?... this was before lime wire and torrenting..
years later I made a request on demonoids forum for all the vh2 and vh3 comics...which someone fullfilled and posted as a torrent, so if u downloaded that torrent, u can thank me for making that request..
but i still have those dvds dinesh sold me, with his handwriting on them...haha...and maybe some of you here have those discs too.. this was before vei..

also, see I'm not the only one who didn't like the webseries..

Since you seem blind to your own comments, you're taking credit for having an idea but someone else had to do all the planning and all the work. If it's a success, you want credit. If it fails, well, they didn't listen to you.

In other words... you really believe that doing nothing is doing something. It makes those of us who actually do things...

Disagree.

If you disagree with me, then I had an idea for a $200 car that goes 200mph and gets 200 miles to the gallon when I was 10. If someone ever does that, well, you know who to thank. If not, well people should have listened to me. Or, maybe I'm being ridiculous.
