Jawbreakers: Lost Souls Indiegogo comic
So I don't know if i should put this in here, but since I backed this project I'm very excited for. I decided to share it in the chances it can succeed even more and you guys can join in.
Jawbreakers: lost souls is the originally 44 page (now 50) graphic novel Written by Richard C. Meyers, a passionate comic book fan who has gotten a big following reviewing comics at youtube (he's done a few books himself before). His book is a one shot which introduces his creator owned team of retired heroes turned mercenaries on an adventure to africa involving a warlord trying to exploit a mysterious monster.
To him this is considered his "Summer Blockbuster" kinda of story which is just supposed to be fun and awesome that combines his love for superheroes and g.i joe.
The art is been done by Jon Malin (Cable, Thunderbolts) whose work i really dig so i'm happy that we are getting top quality art from someone who has worked at marvel.
Currently the project has reached 60k and now we are getting a exclusive cover from Ethan Van Skiver (Green lantern) for all the backers, has expanded to 50 from the originally 44 pages and a square-bound cardstock cover. If it keeps going on this rate, the 70k stretch goal will give us another story story of the team (Originally Richard Meyers drew the first issue of the original series which he is now sharing for free online) and will be considered issue 2 of that series drawn and colored by Kelsey shannon (dark fang, batman adventures, mighty crusaders). This is a project made by a fan for fans and I really want it to succeed. If you guys are interested here's the link to the indiegogo page.
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/jawb ... 18537067#/
I hope the people working on this don't get mad for sharing a image of the book but it's for free promotion xd.

I'm excited about it too but I don't think I can swing twenty-five bucks at the moment. It's good to see it doing so well, though.

That image takes me back to the 90s and I mean that in a good way. I'm really curious about the lightning Godzilla.

The writer really liked the 90's era of comics. So no surprise there. The Dirt Gang wrote:That image takes me back to the 90s and I mean that in a good way. I'm really curious about the lightning Godzilla.

Well, they reached the $70,000 stretch goal, meaning you get two comics instead of one, so I went ahead and backed it.

Re: Jawbreakers: Lost Souls Indiegogo comic
Okay guys, if convincing you with 2 books isn't enough. The final stretch goal is 90k
It's been revealed to be a remastered version of jawbreakers book 1 (the one the creator drew himself)
It's been redrawn by an amazing artist and colored as well. So yes! We are getting the cool one-shot of 50 pages, a new adventure in issue 2 (20 something pages) and the original issue 1 (20 something pages) redone in high quality art and color. 3 books if we reach that goal and only have to pay 25 dollars.
It's an amazing deal guys, lets make it happen!
here's a preview!

I've backed Brian Pulido's lady death and Ron Z's patriotika\valkyrie saviors book. Very happy with both creators.

If anyone is interested there's 10 hours left to back it up. This is your only chance to get this awesome looking book. It's said that it will be published later on, but you'll never be able to get the special variant cover for the trade.

That's an understatement. Everyone is acting like *SQUEE*. Let the men publish their comic. Stores are under no obligation to order it, however.Sven the Returned wrote:So, World War III is on.

Why are people upset? I keep trying to look it up and the explanations I see keep mentioning names like the reader is supposed to know these personalities, probably through other forms of social media in which I do not participate. I suppose it depends on your point of view. Here are a couple of articles to bring you up to speed the first is a bit long, but it does a pretty good job of being thorough. The second deals specifically with the Jawbreaker title.Chiclo wrote:So is that a yes?Cyberstrike wrote:Oh the irony is delicious and now the circle is complete.Chiclo wrote:Why are people upset? Re: Jawbreakers: Lost Souls Indiegogo comic
It's not about his right to publish a comic book. It's about the fact that he sent a hord of *SQUEE* hats to leave negative feedback and ruin livelihood of a bunch of stores that said they would not, in a secret retailer area. An *SQUEE* hat retailer took a screen shot and has cost those retailers long term damage from ruined online reputations. THAT's NOT COOL.armlessphelan wrote:That's an understatement. Everyone is acting like *SQUEE*. Let the men publish their comic. Stores are under no obligation to order it, however.
He also spewed a ton of crap online about a bunch of creators, none deserving the stuff he said. That's the type of person he is. I am not going to do anything to dissway anyone from reading his book, but I can tell you this, my decision is super easy about whether my stores will carry it.

How distasteful. Particularly as someone who has never had a facebook or a smart phone, it is hard for me to take these hollow children seriously with their campaign of one-star reviews of stores but it sounds like it would legitimately hurt these retailers.
My primary interest in the story is what was happening to Antarctic Press - I generally like the company even though I haven't ordered an AP book in I don't know how long. Once upon a time I was interested in putting together a full set of Warrior Nun Areala books.

This is the problem I was running across before - Sven, your rebuttal presupposes that the reader is familiar with Jude Terror and his connection to the story or his connection to anything at all. I don't have that, so I don't know why Jude Terror or his friends might be biased sources of information.Sven the Returned wrote:Am is supposed to trust jude terror's buddy?paradise wrote:https://www.bleedingcool.com/2018/05/13 ... but-peace/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Sven the Returned wrote:Outsidee of soem of his Valiant critique and somewhat rigid attitude about cetain things who did he slander so bad?

He was/is the administrator of a forum on which i was a user and i have a low opnion of him based on that. Also on the same forum some members started a podcast, in the first episode they raved about Rich Johnston and they said he is 80% bs and they raved about his ability to get clicks and get 20% right with 0 self awareness.Chiclo wrote:This is the problem I was running across before - Sven, your rebuttal presupposes that the reader is familiar with Jude Terror and his connection to the story or his connection to anything at all.
