Agreed. I was wondering about the scythe when the initial previews and character designs came online. Glad to know there is a good reason why he doesn't have it anymore.

Speaking of the scythe do wonder if Diggle will ever go back and touch on other unresolved storylines like the soma drug, whatever happened to the Bretheren, and whatever happened to the rogue "senior" abettors that Milligan introduced.

Well, didn't he say he had two years worth of material? I do believe he will search out a great deal of what makes Shadowman, well Shadowman. Once he is through with that (year 1), he may be able to dive into a few of the things you mentioned.

I'd love to see them refer to & build up the Abbetors organization again - that was one of my favourite new elements introduced by Justin Jordan's run, and I was sad that they decimated the ranks of that group except for Alyssa.
