Article about the 2013 sketch cards

I had to write a blog article about the Valiant "preview sets" offered at 2013 SDCC.

I've read a bunch of threads archived on these boards, but still need help.
** Were pre-orders allocated since there were only 500 packs? Did they sell out immediately?
** Was there a plan at a full-size standard card set that was cancelled?
Please help with info, and I'll edit/update my blog & thank y'all.

This card set was cancelled, and there are only the 500 preview sets. I have extra sets (without the sketch card), if you are interested.

I have noticed that there is a seller on eBay (whitehorse) that has been selling sketch cards. I believe this seller has a connection to Rittenhouse, and he has been selling sketch cards that were meant to be fore the regular boxes that were never produced. I have over 200 of these now (a bit of a hoard). What I have no idea is how many of these were produced.

This is all speculation based on collecting these for some time.

So you think more than 500 cards could have been made (in the expectation of a full set) ... and the recent eBAY sales may have been cards NOT included in the 500 preview sets?

I've definitely seen more than 500 listed on eBay. They are out there. I've probably bid (but not won) on more than 500 listings over the last few years.

It would be great if Rittenhouse had a list of ALL the sketch cards they collected. These are all one of a kind, and we don't know how many might be available.
I definitely have gotten a few from eBay.

I have a pack of these somewhere that I bought at SDCC due to peer pressure.

I have a couple of those X-O preview cards too, laying around somewhere.

This post reminded me I have them! Not that it does me a ton of good.

Along the same lines, SideKick Trading Card Company released a Promo Card in 2016, and nothing came of that, right?
