Don't forget production budget typically does not include marketing, so assume more than $90 million with all costs. https://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/movie-cost1.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Joshua wrote:It's pretty exciting. We know absolutely nothing about the rest of the cast, which is a bit odd, but we also may get a bunch of releases of people being added to the movie, if it does indeed start shooting. I've always said that the first movie has a lot riding on it and needs to be good and make money. It does seem like his crap movies do pretty good. Last Witch Hunter made almost $150 Mil off a $90 mil budget. He is a huge box office draw.
Those $150 million ticket sales will have a chunk going to movie theatres: https://io9.gizmodo.com/5747305/how-muc ... profitable" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Taking the second link's assumption of 55% return to the studio, on $130 million in theatres, that budget plus marketing has likely far exceeded the money recouped through ticket sales, even adding the $19 million for DVD/Blue-Ray sales. In other words, it looks very much like the Last Witch Hunter made a loss, possibly a significant one.
EDIT: At 55% assume it made $71 million, possibly against $110 to $120 or more on production costs and marketing.

The Arrival is the one with Charlie Sheen and the aliens that disguise as humans until they bend their knees backwards...kinggirlfriend wrote:Yes THE ARRIVAL was fantastic!The Dirt Gang wrote:Very interesting. The timing of the Valiant sale to DMG and now this news seems peculiar.![]()
I finally watched "Arrival" this weekend and I'm really glad Heiserrer is the screenwriter.
I feel like s "Bloodshot" movie has the potential to do well as it should hopefully be a bit different than the other superhero fare that has mostly been released.
I do wonder if the Capetown water shortage could effect them filming there.
Arrival is the one with Amy Adams and Hawkeye. Both are good in their own ways.

I do not recall Alan Alda being in that movie.lorddunlow wrote:The Arrival is the one with Charlie Sheen and the aliens that disguise as humans until they bend their knees backwards...kinggirlfriend wrote:Yes THE ARRIVAL was fantastic!The Dirt Gang wrote:Very interesting.
