This news just sucks. I would have been following the series for a long time if they kept up the same quality of story telling and art. This has been my favorite Eternal Warrior series to date.

Yes this ongoing comic rocks. I don't get it not one bit. It almost feels like they're closing shop to sell the company. I
Wish Dinesh would tell us something to ease the pain. I feel this is the last of the ongoings for me till they make something new.

What's to get? It sold horribly. We were lucky it got as much of a run as it did. Canceling a poor selling title is not an indicator of closing up shop.

I wish it could keep going, but am not surprised.

I totally understand that ultimately it's the sales that steer the marketing to re-number & that the modern era is just that much different than days gone by, with overall readership a pale shadow of decades past, but still - I think this current era is doing harm to the hobby in the long run. As I said before, I think some companies are far worse than others, and Valiant is one of the best - but take this small experience as an example;

I've recently decided to get back into IDW's transformers line (I'm a huge fan going back to the original cartoon, and with this being the 30th anniversary of the animated movie, I'm craving some new good transformers material to read). I haven't touched one of their TF comics in several years, because at one point they had a continuous overall storyline that was hopping around between too many one-shots & mini-series. I totally lost track of what to pick up & gave up on it.

But now, I go to look into a spot to dive into them again, and I see they have two current series that are both numbered into the 50+ range. That's a really appealing point to begin with for me - I got volume 1 of each title to check them out. If I like it, I'm kind of excited to know that there is a really big chunk of new continuos books to dive into after.

Granted, Transformers is probably a much more wide-spread popular IP than the Valiant stuff in general & it can probably maintain pretty solid numbers (said with no idea of the print runs), but still. Wish we could see more of that here.
I too, have switched over to Transformers. Till All Are One is the new ongoing and its a very character driven read - haven't read anything like it before in a FT comic - I'd give that one a shot (only up to #4 as of today) too :thumb: plus you KNOW you're getting a new TF comic each month, we don't have that same stability with the slate of Valiant comics (ending generally before #25).
I nabbed the first three issues of Till All Are One, I'm just waiting to read them until after I get caught up on the RiD & MtMtE series :thumb:

While I am genuinely disappointed by this series ending as I look forward to reading it each month Gilad seems to be high up on Valiant's list. To tell the truth, it is the only Valiant series I do not resell after reading through it.

Some might not think that Gilad is having an easy time but let's see what we have...
Eternal Warrior - Finished at 8 issues..
Book of Death: Legend of the Geomancer - 4 Issues.
Eternal Warrior: Days of Steel - Finished at 3 issues.
Wrath of the Eternal Warrior - Finished at 14 issues.

Right there we have had 25 issues...

If you add in Unity at 25 Issues, we have 54 issues... and that does not even count appearances in Timewalker and Archer and Armstrong as well as X-O Manowar.

Don't forget that we can also follow Old Man Logan... the Eternal Warrior in the 4001 AD run of titles now too.

I do not believe that we have seen the last of Gilad

Oh... and This is NOT for sale... (I always wanted an Eternal Warrior cover)

This is the cover for issue 13.

I decided to re read wrath and wanted to see what was going on back when it was ending its interesting to re read the comments here.
This was a super good run and may I point out it was a full story with zero loose ends. This to me was a suprise as I didnt plan to get this title but like bloodshot and harbinger it pulled me in.
Im sick this weekend and plan to re read them all and jump into that horrible land or monsters and humungous baddies.
Thanks again Dinesh for bringing this to me. But why hasnt the full book stoy been released :?
I Miss the good old days.

Are you asking about the Deluxe Edition Hardcover? If so, it seems to be scheduled for April.

Plus:

THE VALIANT - 4 issues

AWAKENING - 1-shot

NINJAK: THE FIST & THE STEEL - 4 issues

I realize this is an old post but I completely agree. Gilad is by far my favorite Valiant character, and while the early issues are a little inconsistent to what came after I surely enjoyed every issue and every appearance he made. I absolutely adore WRATH and while I always anticipated seeing more of him, but if we never do again (and in light of recent events), I'm happy that he actually got a deserved happy ending and a rest. It never felt like Valiant pushed him the same way that they pushed Ninjak or Faith but his very presence showed how important he was to to the Valiant universe lore.

But I do hope he pops up again, even if it means pulling him away from his family in heaven, because I'm selfish. And hopefully if this happens Venditti will be the one to helm his new tales.

Nice post.
There is one loose end. The sophran the old man who made the maze. He zipped into another persons body. I would love to see him get back at Gilad. Or maybe he coukd try for some weapon to desroy Gilad setting up another run.
They whole ever after place he goes to was a new idea fro Vei and it was so cool to see where he goes when he dies. I gotta say acter readi g the first 4 issues again the first arc and especilly the first one are quite sad. Coukd you imagie how much crap you woukd get into lying to your dieing wife about your child not being dead to see here in your retirment retreat after.
