Question about price...
... on a complete set of Valiant books published between May 2012 and May 2017, every single issue frome every single series, including one-shots and minis, even the FCBD stuff- but no incentive-covers; I'm switching to trades of what I like only and I'm keeping my special books (signed, commisions, golds) from my floppies. I have about 2 long boxes of VEI, including tons of variants and multiprint books. I would like to sell it all at the same time and even if it is a longshot, I would like to ask the more expert peeps here what is a fair price, taking into account the books are well kept, bagged, boarded and kept in longboxes in a non-smoking room. And they can all be bought in one deal, maybe there are new readers who have the pockets deep enough and interest for something like this?
Any input is appreciated, not in the rush for selling these or anything- it's just that i'm pondering that particular scenario.
Thanks!

Re: Question about price...
The "no incentive covers" description puts all the books under cover price at this point. Someday there will probably be more valuable non-incentives, but it hasn't really happened yet in the market. Whether you could get $2 per book or $3 per book probably depends on the shipping costs being factored in. I would be surprised if you could get $4 each, including shipping, since that would be full price when most shops have some of the issues cheaper.
If there exists a "potential fan" who wants every book, but doesn't yet own any, that person would be your best bet. However, if I imagine myself as a guy who would be interested in collecting something I don't collect, like CrossGen, I doubt that I would pay full cover price even to get them all.

Having sold several VEI sets of non-incentive covers, you are lucky if you can get $2.00 an issue. Some sets like Harbinger and X-O will get a higher price, but most of the others are in the $1.50-$1.75 range.

Re: Question about price...
I sold my VEI floppies a few years ago to a Valiant fan getting back into the new line of comics. I think we agreed on $2 CAD, there was no shipping involved, and I tossed in extras and second and third printings as extras. So for example, let's say there was 1-25 for X-O, I would ask $50 and I threw in all the second, third printings, pullback variants, etc. etc. Like you many of these (especially the reprints) were never read, pristine condition - bags/boards pristine as well.
If you want to move them online I think you would have to break it down by title and charge less simply because the shipping kills the buyer.

Re: Question about price...
Many Thanks, gents. I'll certainly take your advices into account.
The other option i'm considering is selling runs of a series and include all the variants and multi-prints.

That might be an idea, although I think breaking it variants and sets a part would attract two sets of buyers?ShadowTuga wrote:Many Thanks, gents.
