Back in the day when you had to order a gazillion copies from american entertainment to get the Black bagged edition of Spiderman #1 Limited $2 cover. By the way, for any FF fans, I was on ebay looking at a few auctions and came by this drawing. One of the best Sue Richards I've seen in a long time (kind of reminds you of Tara Reid). Scroll down and you'll see the picture. http://cgi.ebay.com/BATMAN-464-465-466- ... dZViewItem

She looks nekkid... like the "costume" is body-paint.

Not bad! Kinda like T.Reid, except for Tara's horrible boob-job.

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

I wonder if Tara had the same plastic surgeon that The Joker did in Batman?

Those Marvel 25th anniversary covers were sometimes very well-done

And I was horribly stupid when it came to gimmick covers...horribly stupid...please, someone go back in time and stop me! Not counting dealer incentives, are any of them worth anything? Any worth more than cover price?

No, but Silver Surfer 50 is still awesome. :)

They look pretty bad.. but it looks like the surgeon might have elected to insert the implant through the nipple. In this case there would be a scar for a little while during the healing process. It will look better after it heals properly , but they have to cut the entire nipple off and sew it back on. It also causes a loss of sensation.

I read somewhere that the surgeon did indeed botch the job, so I'm not sure if a scar that big will ever heal correctly.

Oh my--

Can't believe I forgot this doozy...the freakin' Continuity rebirth:

Deathwatch 2000!!!!

The deal here was Neal Adams re-launched the 2nd or 3rd series of each title from issue 1 & it all started in a limited Unity # 0 rip-off limited edition polybagged "Deathwatch 2000 # 0"

(had to buy 3-4 of the regular issues to get it). So I found this coin dealer who didn't know anything & bought half a dozen sealed copies of just that issue for $2.50 each.

The re-launch was supposed to be jump-started by Spawn guest-starring in Valeria the She-Bat done by Todd McFarlane-Neal Adams to introduce the company to all the fanboys.

Never happened. To this day I don't know if Valeria The She-Bat was ever released.

But if anyone needs 5-6 copies of some crappy sealed shiny Neal Adams garbage, ring me up...

No, the Spawn crossover with Valeria was never released, though the series was around.

That's a shame because Tara Reid is pretty hot otherwise. The shape of the job looks nice, but the nipple definitely looks mis-shapen. But back to the Sue Richards link I posted, definitely looks hot.

Breast implants and shiny covers...both are gimmicks to get you to notice something you might not have noticed otherwise...

This was back when I didnt have enough money to afford many comics, but Wizard said I had to buy two - one to keep and one to open - of these comics. So when Rise of the Midnight Sons came around I was hit pretty hard.
when I started reading this this thread, I kept muttering under my breath "Rise of the Midnight Sons" followed by a few expletives. Polybags are what hit me the hardest.

Rise of the Midnight Sons
Executioners Song
Superman #75
Adventures of Superman #500 (*SQUEE* got me twice)
Spiderman #1

Various #1 issues (I bought both the 1st and 2nd Damage Control mini-series)
2nd Printings when I owned the 1st (like I was going to spend alot of time re-reading Bishop's first friggin appearance)

now you guys are getting me angry

OK, better now?
