Most memorable comic scenes or moments?
What are your most memorable scenes or moments from any individual comic?
The one punch scene between Batman and Guy Gardner in Justice League #5 made me think about this.

Valiant:
Gayle disintegrating in front of Phil when he turned into a black hole in Alpha & Omega.
X-O being bit in half by a dinosaur in Unity.
Non-Valiant:
"I did it thirty-five minutes ago".
Jean Grey jumping in front of the laser cannon on the moon to destroy herself (and Phoenix).
Chris Powell grabbing the amulet and becoming Darkhawk for the first time.
Tulip shot in the face by Jody in front of Jesse Custer in Preacher.
Psylocke in her bathing suit in X-Men #8 (hey I was 13 ok?!)

Re: Most memorable comic scenes or moments?
NA NA NA NA NA NA NA Guess what my list is all about (jk):
- first and foremost, the final page from TDKR. Still has the feels to this day.
- The Hulk vs Thor in the 70's Avengers/Defenders War;
- The TMNT being licked into another dimension (yes, licked) by a giant cow head. (Archie comics' Cudley, the Cowlick's 1st apppearances);
- The second page from Detective Comics 437 "Deathmask"- THAT was the Batman I came to love. First BA/MA Batman story I read.
- Leonardo decapitating Shredder;
- Elektra biting it;
- The crowbar and Jason;
- Wolverine Vol. 1 #1 - THAT cover.
- Storm kicking Cyke's a**;
- Black Panther riding a pterodactyl all *SQUEE* up and jumping on Salamander Kruel;
- Bat-Mite's first appearance in Morrison's run.
- Flash using Psycho Pirate to turn the Anti Monitor redshirts against him- my fav Flash moment ever;
- Superman leaving everything in a hurrie in order to stop a teenager from killing herself;
- The "car keys" moment from Night of the Stalker;
- The return of Wally (Rebirth);
- Giant *SQUEE* squid kills millions in NY... and that's all folks!;
- Shira and O-Ren's "moment" in Blade of the Immortal- for all the wrong reasons, and something not for the weak of heart and stomach. This is the sickest thing I ever saw in a mainstream comic, it's violence on a whole new level. As a character development piece it works a million wonders, because Shira instantly becomes the worst. Character. Ever. And that was the intention. BOTI is amazingly violent, but terrific stuff.
- Just to wash my palate, the Michelangelo homage to Batman the Animated Series from this year's BTAS/TMNT mini;
- "The Dark Knights arrived" moment from DK - Metal #2. Very, very recent but damn, they sure made an impact within the fandom.
Valiant exclusive:
- Ninjak handling Aric in X-O #5;
- Torque, Kris and SK8;
- Flamingo's death;.
- Bloodshot's first death in the revamped universe (Bloodshot #1)- that was waaaay gory.

Gotta say, the first time I read Harbinger Wars, and was able to finally see Bloodshot's Harbinger Protocol, I was floored. I had heard people talking about it, but never read it until recently and it was amazing.

"Don't F*** with GOD!"-Godjeremycoe wrote:God vs. the Devil in Savage Dragon (#31, I think).
"I would listen to him Satan!"-The Savage Dragon
Then at the end:
"Where did I come from? What is my origin?"-The Savage Dragon
"You were conceived by your parents."-God.
^I don't know why but that last bit I find kind of funny.
Although The Savage Dragon and Super Patriot vs. The Bodily Functions in The Savage Dragon #25 is one of those fights you find yourself laughing out loud because it's actually funny (if you like low brow fart and poop jokes) and you also get a sense that Larsen was laughing his butt off when he wrote and drew his part of it.

How could I forget to include this very bit- it is one of my favourite pages in all of comics' history.
To redeem myself, I'll even put the page up here:

Re: Most memorable comic scenes or moments?
I remember a really funny scene in a Hulk book from the Peter David run in the 90's where Hulk is fighting a group of bad guys led by The Leader and one of them is shooting some kind of force blast against the Hulk as Hulk walks closer to him. Hulk's flesh is being flayed and he's almost down to bone when he finally gets to the bad guy and thumps him unconscious. Hulk then regenerates and turns to take on The Leader who basically surrenders and politely asks Hulk to find some clothes before taking him anywhere and reminding Hulk that there are women in the room and that he's giving others an inferiority complex.
Peter David was hilarious. I loved his run on Hulk and X-Factor.

Classic. I remember that scene for its humour too - it was the U-Foes with the Leader, & drawn by Dale Keown. Peter David remains my all-time favourite Hulk writer for all that he brought to the character.geocarr wrote:I remember a really funny scene in a Hulk book from the Peter David run in the 90's where Hulk is fighting a group of bad guys led by The Leader and one of them is shooting some kind of force blast against the Hulk as Hulk walks closer to him. Re: Most memorable comic scenes or moments?
Another book that has stuck with me is from the Chris Claremont X-Men run (I think it's Uncanny X-Men #183) where the book opens with Colossus sitting in the open in a town that looks like a tornado went through it talking about how anyone normal would have just went around the buildings but Juggernaut walked through them instead and wrecked the whole town. Later, Wolverine takes Colossus out to a bar where he gets a little drunk and it just so happens that Juggernaut is dressed as a civilian and having a drink and picking up women. Colossus picks a fight with him and Wolverine stands there and watches as Juggernaut hands Colossus his *SQUEE* but breaks it up once he thinks Colossus has had enough. It was a great self-contained story.

The last scene in Wet Moon vol. 6 by Sophie Campbell were Cleo learns who attacked & nearly killed Trilby in the previous volume. I won't spoil it, but I liked how Sophie handled it.
