Nah, they were sent out AS a team. Cronos is the clear "leader" of "his" "team".

Most of the kids we see in BS #9 are the crew that goes with Bloodshot, namely Clem (give the kid a shirt), and some of the other random kids that nobody cares about anymore.

Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Comics Of Any Era
Something similar happened in original Valiant which never really caused any controversy. What is the first appearance of the "Harbinger kids"? Harbinger #1 (1992)?
Yes.
But...
Technically, the "kids" in Harbinger #1 aren't Harbinger, they're anti-Harbinger. "Harbinger kids" would more accurately be a name for Harada's "eggbreaker" team.
They first appeared in Solar #3... before Harbinger #1.
So, Generation Zero kids appear before the Generation Zero kids... just like Harbinger kids appeared before the Harbinger kids.

Interesting. Kind of cool to have a discussion on a VEI book in this thread.

ASM 300 is on fire! I have had a CBCS 9.2 for awhile and recently started looking for a higher grade to add to the collection. CGC 9.8's are costing around $2000!!! That's crazy. I had to "settle" for a CGC 9.6 which still cost me a pretty penny. This book has a high print run and I read somewhere that it is the most graded book by CGC. In my opinion, that book is just a newer version of Hulk 181 and ASM 129 which are not rare by any means. They are all first appearances of side characters that have become main characters. ASM 300 may level off some after the movie, but I don't see it ever going down.

Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Comics Of Any Era
High grade newsstand copies (UPC barcode) aren't "rare" by any means, but ASM 300 newsstands are significantly less often found in 9.2+... about 10-to-1 to 20-to-1 times less than the direct edition (Spider-Man head in the UPC box). Collectors bought direct editions... kids in grocery/convenience stores bought newsstands. I'm interested to see the future of the market when people start noticing the significant difference. There are always many ASM 300 on ebay, so it's always fun to spot check the versions and grades available.Summydad1 wrote:ASM 300 is on fire! I would agree that it is a popular book and in demand book, but the price uptick is due to movie related news regarding Venom. The book hit a high of $1725 in 9.8 in 2006. In 2012, the high price for a 9.8 was $700 and $500 for a low, which is a rather large swing for a key. I think comparing this to a Hulk 181 is not a justifiable comparison considering, let's say 9.4 essentially stayed the same for a long period of years or gradually increased, this book did not loose half it's value in 6 years and then have an upswing again.

Right, but the "Generation Zero kids" are the "kids" in the title "Generation Zero", not "kids" from Bloodshot #9 who also became "Generation Zero kids".Dr. Solar wrote:The "Harbinger Kids" are the "kids" in the title "Harbinger", not "kids" that work for "[the] Harbinger [Foundation]".greg wrote:Something similar happened in original Valiant which never really caused any controversy. Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Comics Of Any Era
Maraxus, I agree with most of what you say. There is a difference that I notice between 2012 and 2017. It seems like venom is a much bigger part of the comic world. I see "Venomized" versions all over. He is now much more of a major player than he was 5 years ago. That in conjunction with the movie, which will probably be successful, pushes the book past the envelope. You may be right and the value will once again ebb, but I hope not. We will have to see in 10 years.

Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Comics Of Any Era
Marvel's lenticular covers that were mentioned earlier in this thread have turned out to be a complete disaster. I don't want to hijack this thread, so there is more in the forum thread here, but as far as their use in the content of this thread - I don't see the market chasing these down when they basically don't even work and are probably going to alienate the readership even more.

I enjoyed them and picked 4-5 up. I have to say, the shops ordered heavy on them, but from a customer standpoint, they are fine from my point of view.

I don't mind them either. I also have 4-5 of my favorite characters or famous covers. They are not really that bad but in no way as good as the DC lenticulars. I saw a DC cover that lenticulated back and forth from The Flash to Batman. Amazing!

Maybe you were one of the rare few who got copies that actually work?nycjadie wrote:I enjoyed them and picked 4-5 up. I have to say, the shops ordered heavy on them, but from a customer standpoint, they are fine from my point of view.

Bleeding Cool for example....
"The Marvel lenticular covers are cool, but don't quite...lenticulate?...correctly? Hard to fully see either image."
Comics Beat talks about it...
Why did #Marvel even bother with a lenticular cover if they won’t make full use of its capability? Laziness or tight deadlines?
This random YouTube guy pretty much sums it up within 16 seconds of his YouTube guy discussion....
YouTube Commentary
NYCJadie, can I ask what about Marvel's lenticular promotion you enjoyed and thought was well done? I'd love to hear a story about a batch of these that was manufactured correctly, because I thought they had potential....
I thought that was awesome too..Summydad1 wrote:I don't mind them either. I also have 4-5 of my favorite characters or famous covers. They are not really that bad but in no way as good as the DC lenticulars. I saw a DC cover that lenticulated back and forth from The Flash to Batman. Amazing!

OK, so what is going on with Doomsday? I sold several Death of Superman issues, including 2 buyers buying multiple copies of Justice League 69, which has always been a peripheral book in the story. Anything to do with the Doomsday Clock/DC thing? I don't know anything about it. From what I can see, these books are heating up.

Doomsday clock, afaik has nothing to do with Doomsday: honestly, I have no idea why is it heating as you say- only thing I can think of is the rumour/announcement that DC was going to make an animated 2 parter based on the Death of Supes.nycjadie wrote:OK, so what is going on with Doomsday? JL #69 is Outburst's first appearance, though.
