Valiant and me/Introduction
Hello everyone. I found this place by accident, signed up and here I am.
I am a long time comic book reader and have both a fondness and disgust of the 90's. Fortunately Valiant is in fondness side of it. I don't remember exactly what book I picked up that started me collecting Valiant, albeit sporadically, but the stories I read whether they were A&A, XO or Harbinger or Ninjak I was blown away by their maturity if you will. They just read differently than Marvel or DC at the time. It was clear Valiant wasnt just trying to write homogeneous stories.
On December of 2000 i stopped all collecting to start college the next year. I didnt have the money to pay for school and collect at the same level and after the 90's and the garbage storytelling I turned my back on it.
After 12 years, the combination of a facebook page dedicated to comic books, IGN news about AVX in 2013 I stepped into a comic shop again. I started catching up on some of the titles and buying new ones, mainly Marvel. After getting aclimated with the new landscape in comics I found out Valiant was back as a publisher. Picked up X-O, Ninjak and Bloodshot and it was off to the races with properties which except for A&A were better than their 90's counterparts.
I have a great amount of respect for Dinesh Shamdasani and crew because it is clear they are not just in guys in charge but they have a true love for the characters and their history and they have a long long term plan for the stories they want to tell. I regularly tweet comments, questions and praise and get a reply or likes. Which is great he interacts with me as a fan.
Finally, with the loss of their properties like Solar, Magnus and Turok I have to say I am enjoying their replacements in Divinity, Savage and now War Mother more than those old Gold Key properties.
Make Mine Valiant!

Valiant and me/Introduction
Yours is a great story. It was only recently that I discovered (mostly through this board) that collections have history, and even that each individual collector can be important, and have history. I've started keeping receipts with key books. Welcome back to Valiant!
