You have admit that he''s hot though. Even as a guy I can see the sex appeal Jared Leto has. Great draw for female viewers. I asked my brother, and he said Jared Leto is normally a really good actor. As long as the film has a good direction.pixierosa wrote:Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Edit: Also he''s a big name actor. For the first time I'm seeing the name "Bloodshot" in the mainstream news sites because he might be cast.

Leto is a Chameleon, he can play any role. And you know the script and directing will be good. Hope it works out.

It's possible he could bulk up. It's been done before by other actors, but it most certainly takes a LOT of consistency and cRaZy-level effort to make such a significant jump in size to that degree.
I've gone from a 160 lb marathon runner to a 195 lb weight lifter. But it took several years and a ton of chicken.

Re: Jared Leto in talks for Bloodshot
Actors have special diets/training for just this. They can pack on a ton of muscle in the six months they need. There are specialists for work with actors to give them the body type the need for a role in only half a year. The process is intense though.DirtbagSailor wrote:It's possible he could bulk up. One example of many.
The bigger question is, will Leto be leaving as the Joker. He can't do both roles for obvious reasons. Switching from the beefed up Bloodshot to the slim Joker would be to big of a strain to put on his body on a regular basis.
Henry Clavill''s moustache is causing trouble for Justice League right now, and that's only facial hair. Make me wonder if Leto is done with DC after his experience of Suicide Squad. He didn't sound happy at all with the film''s production.

Big, big name. Even if it doesn't happen, this is a 1% market share comic company making big time news.

Maybe I was too quick to judge but I want my Bloodshot to be a head cracker. It's a step in the right direction. I would go see the movie regardless who the star was. Also, sorry for the double posting. Don't know how that happened.

Re: Jared Leto in talks for Bloodshot
Jordan Catalano would be a HOME RUN for VEI!!!!!
He has "street cred" and he won an OSCAR, a Golden Globe and a SAG award!
He is a crossover star, his band 30 sec to Mars has a rabid following.
and well, he was Jordan Catalano!
and..... AND.....
He will be on the TONIGHT SHOW to promote Bloodshot! He is a BIG BIG star!
If the deal gets done, this is a MASSIVE WIN for VEI, and really all of us!
If this happens, hold on tight.

Re: Jared Leto in talks for Bloodshot
I'm sure he can bulk up for the role. He's dramatically changed his physical appearance for other roles. Have you seen his transformation for the role of John Lennon's assassin? He can act well and has done some excellent work, but he has such negative publicity for his personal behavior (the ridiculousness and artifice of his antics to play the Joker, for example) that I can't stand him. My knee jerk reaction to him is now an eye roll. Hence my "no". I don't want him to ruin Valiant for me.
If he gets the role, and we hear how he wanted to inhabit the character so much that he starts eating live cows/cats/etc and only interacts with his co-stars "in character", or gives gifts of daggers and ammo, I'm going to want to personally remove all of his nanites in a most prejudiced manner. I don't want him to take away from Bloodshot's story.
Suicide Squad did him in for me. News stories of his ridiculous behavior (or method-acting) overshadowed the movie. The off-screen behavior of the entire cast, from Leto being a pretentious weirdo to the cast giving each other tattoos, soured me rather than made me anticipate the movie. It felt like a desperate plea for attention, high school drama club style. It's annoying and unprofessional. I want the hype to be about the movie, not what the actors do to "be the character".
Our primary association with the Bloodshot movie should be great story, awesome action, not "method actor Leto ate raw meat." Case in point: when I hear "Suicide Squad", I immediately think of all the non-movie news like Leto refusing to ever be out of character, cast tattoos, weird Joker gifts and so forth. There is such a thing as bad publicity.
If he can behave like a professional and is a credit to the character, then more power to him.

Re: Jared Leto in talks for Bloodshot
BUT, I'll see the movie regardless. I'll cross my fingers that he'll behave professionally.
Also, he may find working on a character without as much backstory/baggage as the Joker to be a good thing. He gets to define who Bloodshot is for an entire generation.

Re: Jared Leto in talks for Bloodshot
We'll just have to wait, and see. Hopefully though since Leto is a method actor he'll adopt a more stoic militant style disciplined dement to get into character for the film. The exact opposite of the Joker. He probably will eat raw meat, and I'm sure people will notice his "behavior". I just get the feeling it will be a different flavor of weird due to the nature of the character. Method actors a like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get.pixierosa wrote:

Each time Bloodshot is programmed with a different set of memories, he becomes the other person. The Bloodshot actor will need to be believable in each programming.

Re: Jared Leto in talks for Bloodshot
Most weird pairing of a character and an actor in recent times. Did not see that coming. At all.
Guy's a freaking Great actor, no matter how much of a jerk he is in RL (I have no idea about it, don't follow movie peeps or anything). He's freaking great. As in, I'll watch almost any movie with the guy, since he also has great taste for his projects.
Bloodshot?! Wow, I am not seeing that at all, but I remember people saying the same about RDJ on Iron Man, circa 2007. I am happy for VEI's staff that this gets good word for the company- Well done, guys!
And this is how you reach the masses, not through tihs ekil Namwodahs.

True but Cruise never played a lab-constructed killing machine. But yeah, there's ways around it. We saw him in something recently on tv, and he's towering over the rather tall female lead. My wife said he must be standing on a soap box.Elveen wrote:jmatt wrote:He's 5' 9". I dunno.

I agree with a lot of what pixierosa says. His detached Hollywood antics are a little much for me. Are there any actors around like a modern day Charles Bronson. He was a legit tough guy who didn't get involved in the strange Hollywood lifestyle.
