Word on the street is that it isn't very good. I don't know if that will keep me from buying one but the more it sucks the better chance that Magnus can come home to Valiant.

I read it.

Its a waste of time and money. Hopefully it will crash and burn and the real VALIANT can pick up Magnus

I'm torn. If it's as bad as I have feared, I don't want to purchase it and give them support for an inferior product.

On the other hand, it *is* Magnus...

It's way over priced for the amount of pages, so even if it was good it woulld have a really hard time selling unless it had some "hotter" talents attatched to it. I've always doubted there would be more graphic novels made beyond the original plotline (didn't they plan to make 3?).

No. Steranko's art is a heckuvalot better than that.

Look at the credit s again. He did some "redesign" work for them (I guess that he designed that generic outfit Magnus is in :| ).

whoa, people have this already? Does anyone want to give a more in-depth review of it?

I know before they were talking about a series of 3 Graphic novels and at least 1 or 2 novels (non-graphic). But who knows, ibooks doesn't always seem to have everything together.

I will buy one when I have the chance anyway, to add to the Magnus collection. Hey if it sucks that bad it might even become one of those rare collector items. :P

They did end up giving it away at the con on sunday. Really the only reason "she" did this was because she didn't want to take them back with her.

On Thursday I made a point to find Ibooks and see what was going on with the Magnus book because they had just resolicited it with previews so the time retail should see it was September.
I noticed that the GN was on her table. So I ask her "is this for sale?"

"I sure hope so I have a CASE of it for the show" is there a show price? nope just cover price. I told her that we were having a Valiant meeting on Saturday and that I would let everyone know they had it for purchase...

That first night when we were all out Partying at..............oh *SQUEE* I can't remember where we ended up at but I do know the service WAS BAD :D
We all collectively put that they were selling it and would make a point some time to pick it up.
My day to pick it up just happened to be the final day of the show....sunday. I strolled over to there booth just about 10:10am and went up to her "how is the Magnus GN selling?"
She said that she was suprised it's been selling pretty well for them." She reached down grabbed the remaining issues and placed them on the counter...." I decided to give the rest of them away today....I really don't want to pack them up and bring them back with me"
"you can have two"
I grabbed two and so did Serenity :thumb:

She said that orders for the book were not strong....they did print all the issues already and they are waiting in a warehouse to be distributed...regardless of what the new solicitation brings in...she stressed that the print run on the book isn't high AT ALL.

The COE of Ibooks was killed in car crash not long ago (few weeks?) so the future of there new projects are sort of in the air right now untill they figure out what they can do....there future is in question and so is the statis of the next two Magnus GN they have planned.

iBooks is a small comic publishing company, they are licensing Magnus from Classic Media (the original owners). There was supposed to be 3 Graphic novels along with some prose novels by Louise Simonson, but who knows.
