Re: Ninjak templesmithe variants?
They're incredibly tough to find. DCBS gave me a credit on my preorder for issue 25 by Templesmith since there weren't enough orders. I saw a copy of #24 for well over $100 on eBay.

I haven't been able to find them either. And now I'm concerned about finding the 1:50 for #25. Guess I should have preordered them.

Had no idea they were so covered.
Re: Ninjak templesmithe variants?
OT: So DCBS pulled their usual bait-and-switch on you. Every month they sit down and decide which orders to honor or not based on what they describe as being "cost effective". A practice that is only legal if it is made clear in advertisements. Actually it was only very recently that DCBS's web site was updated to fullfill this legal obligation. Up until then they were breaking the law. This was the smallest of the problems I had with them before I took my business elsewehere. For instance, they misplaced comics and once even an entire package, one co-owner repeatedly and knowingly lied to me and they blamed VEI for their own mistakes. They simply can not be trusted.JCP wrote:DCBS gave me a credit on my preorder for issue 25 by Templesmith since there weren't enough orders.

Re: Ninjak templesmithe variants?
Do you know of another place where you can preorder variants? I've been using DCBS lately to order one copy of a cover A of a book plus the variant. This was the first time they've cancelled my variant. I'd go somewhere else if I had a place to go that will preorder the variant too.magnusr wrote:OT: So DCBS pulled their usual bait-and-switch on you. I've ordered from them a handful of times, and half the time, they changed the order allocation without telling me.magnusr wrote:OT: So DCBS pulled their usual bait-and-switch on you. Re: Ninjak templesmithe variants?
That is a problem. By hooking up with a dealer like Ed, one can get most variants, but for the toughest variants there is no solution. Wish I had a solution but this time I just vented about the problem...JCP wrote:Do you know of another place where you can preorder variants?

Re: Ninjak templesmithe variants?
DCBS has #26 1:50 available for preorder but I'm not a big fan of the cover and $60 sounds a bit steep for a book that seemingly closes an arc but doesn't introduce any new characters (that we know of). With Rapture and secret Weapons coming out soon and Phoenix ComiCon in a few months, I'd rather put that $60 toward something better and just read the regular issue. Plus, DCBS just cancelled my order last month for Ninjak #25 1:50. I wish we could buy direct from VEI.

Re: Ninjak templesmithe variants?
I would skip it and look for that book from a reputable eBay seller after the release. My gut tells me you will save money by doing so.JCP wrote:DCBS has #26 1:50 available for preorder but I'm not a big fan of the cover and $60 sounds a bit steep for a book that seemingly closes an arc but doesn't introduce any new characters (that we know of). That's what I thought I would do. So far no sign of 23 or 24.mkb28 wrote:I would skip it and look for that book from a reputable eBay seller after the release. My gut tells me you will save money by doing so.

This may be a case where not enough orders are being placed to get a 1:50 copy, so they may HTF.raiden wrote:That's what I thought I would do. Re: Ninjak templesmithe variants?
Just bought 23, 24 for $70 each
$60 is fair for 26. Ordering 50 copies is
$100. They sell you the other variants
They may break even. Who knows how many
Sell. I know fpnyc used to get 20 copies
By now probably down to 10. If you really
Want a copy preorder with your store
But it will cost you at least $100.
Im probably going to offer my guy $120.
For the 1:50 lotay plus keeping most of
The books or maybe give him $130.
Im sure down the line all these ninjak
1:50 books will be huge and not *SQUEE*
Donald trump huge. Dcbs once never sent
Me a copy of legends of geomancer 1
May have been a mistake. Then they had
One for sale on ebay through the guys store
I got a copy somewhere anyway. Im
Assuming it was a mistake. One month
They didn't send bags and boards i paid
For oops. Books were ok. There are relative
Few sources for these books so we roll
The dice and hope the orders are fulfilled
