BTW - The platinum is the first documented copy and also the first copy to be graded.

Thought I was in the running there for the Pink, but alas, that selling price is amazingly historic for the Valiant Community.

I already have a Plat, but knowing the Pink would have exploded out of the ceiling like it did, I think I would have put my funds towards the [semi-attainable] Plat 9.8.

In retrospect, I kinda wish we had 2 posts, 1 for each item, and set it up auction style where we knew real-time what the highest bid was (and I guess who was bidding, not that it really matters). It may have actually yielded a bidding frenzy and made the seller more money. It would have made me think about bidding more, for sure. Full disclosure, I was the $3000 and $3550 bids.

Again, congratulations to the buyer(s), and no hard feelings.

Both books are unique... they are both the first of their kind to be discovered, documented, and professionally graded.

I might have been able so score the Platinum, but would have run out of room on the Pink. I've got $2,500 committed to another seller, which of course limits what I can do here today.

Much like a Lanister, I ALWAYS pay my debts, and do my best not to over commit in multiple areas at the same time. That leads to a reputation and series of events which I refuse to allow myself to become associated with.

The winners here got some amazing books, and (as indicated by the prices) were fully committed to that end. Well done to both!

It was me. I was previously best known for taking home the Foreman Golden Ticket, then unfortunately for omitting Britannia Johnson 2-4 and Savage 1 from my DCBS preorders (remedied through a beneficent third party) and now this. With continued interest in this book, I may perhaps be sort-of just holding onto the Pink for awhile, which would be fine as I'm still short the DMG books, Divinity slabs, and a few other high-grade V1 keys. And offers for the 9.6 Pink could be quite entertaining, I suspect!

It appears as though I could have gotten this book for less, given the Christmas holiday. But I only bid exactly what I think it is worth. VEI output has been increasingly amazing, so ultimately, with one of the grails of collectible Valiant books, I am proud to go on record as part of another transaction that helps collectors to notice Valiant. Thanks to Zero for the sale.

Great pickup on the pink. I'd have given everyone a running on the pink and the platinum, but I'm on holiday. For some reason the wife didn't think cutting our visit short and using the rest of the holiday money to buy these books was a good idea.

If anyone comes across more pink or platinum copies please share with the forums. Lots of us would like additional chances to bid.
