I can only speculate, but maybe they had a low first print run based on the beginning numbers. Then, late in the game( just a week ago?), people started realizing the low variant run, and started ordering as much as they could.

to strengthen this argument, didn't we first hear about the possibility that this could be the lowest variant print run ever, THEN we heard about it going back for a second print? That, or maybe (as I stated earlier) there are more stores ordering, but fewer reaching the variant level

Also, and this is probably more plausible, maybe they caught an error, and had to snip off part of the order. Say they had to clip roughly 3000 books, would that cause a shortage of roughly 2 books per store?

I speculate by the lack of savage stuff on eBay and the fact nobody is posting what they got and the shortage at my two shops they ordered 25 but only got three. One being the 1/20 which I got for 10 bucks. That we can probably expect the 1/50 to be like under 200.

The biggest store in North America got 10. I'm yet to hear of any shops getting them or actuelly anyone getting one. None on eBay. Last time I checked.

I got one coming. I only bought it because of all the talk leading up. I would probably trade mine if it got me some slabs or variants I am missing. I might change my mind by the time it arrives.

But this does seem to be a book people outside of normally collecting Valiant are talking about. That is good.

Only one on eBay that I see and it's under 30.00 right now. it's so weird to see nothing on eBay for such a new book.

The comic shops didn't order enough. If anyone f'ed up it's them. AND that's only if they could have sold a good portion of the 50 books they would have needed to buy to get the 1:50. They have to make wise business decisions.

THAT! BTW, sadly I am among them. Not having done a set here for various reasons, none of which matter now, we ordered pretty low. Still in HUNDREDS but we could have done much better.

Just a speculation that leads to rumors which are completely based on NOTHING. They can't snip an order that is already placed by retailers. Diamond collects orders from Retailers by FOC and sends a Purchase Order to publisher, who does nothing but set the overprint, but can not cut the order lower than the PO Diamond sent. Everything else you hear is bull crap.

I did not say that I would do it I don't need to because I already order a lot and support VEI in some pretty huge ways. But a newer store, or a store that does not have the audience for the book should do it in a heart beat. You just gave them 98 free books that they can sell, create customers and sell more of #2,3,.... for years to come. FOR FREE.

The rumor is the numbers are low, so I'll guess 11k.

Valiant mini's have sold pretty well in the past. A 7K drop from Britannia #1 would be shocking to me.
