Looks like a "cosmic" XO, with maybe the red triangle as the dash?

Re: Impending Announcement?
Well this is obviously a teaser related to X-O. I think the real question is whether we just get a simple teaser for the new X-O series, or if this is going to be the next big publishing initiative announcement.
It very much feels like a 'winding down' period to Valiant, so I wouldn't be surprised to hear some major announcements for the next few months moving forward. With Wrath and A&A ending, all the Future of Valiant mini-series wrapping up between December and March, and Ninjak's 25th issue fast approaching, it's seems inevitable that the there will be a major announcement any time now.
Does anyone remember how early Valiant Next was teased? Future of Valiant was announced 3 months prior to Faith #1? I think?

The new xo book has been in the works for a wile. And isn't it slated to be a fcbd issue. So probably the month after fcbd is when it will be out. My feeling is this will be an ongoing title.
I Miss the good old days.

Re: Impending Announcement?
Seeing as The Fall of X-O Manowar confirms Aric will remain X-O until his adult daughter succeeds him, I highly doubt that. This reminds me of another article that said that Rai's powers come the Blood of Heroes despite the fact that Livewire (4001 AD) is shown to be the source of his power.Today, Valiant Entertainment teases the next chapter in the saga of X-O Manowar with a new piece of art. But will Aric of Dacia once again don the iconic armor, or is there a new hero waiting to take up the mantle? After all, when it comes to superhero comics, a character’s story is never truly over, but heroic legacies can be the stuff legends — and franchises — are made of.
Someone should consider updating wikipedia to help these guys/girls out. I'm sure most of these guys/girls still think that Bloodshot is Angelo Mortalli, that Jody Houser created Faith in 2016, that Archer was raised in a Buddhist temple, and that Jeff Lemire created Kay McHenry
That cover, and the recent teases make me wonder if the next X-O run is going to go full cosmic.

The main problem and reason for the long wait is finding the right writer/creative team to pull this off.TheeBaldMoose wrote:I have no doubt that Shadowman will come back in 2017. Hoping they truly get dark and dirty with it, and I am willing to wait for it!

What, you don't call THIS a tease? Think about it, a few days ago, you knew nothing! Now, you at least know that XO will be back in March. Compile that with Bloodshot, and you've got a great spring of 2017!!
Now, just bring those great, cool details to ECCC!

Re: Impending Announcement?
A couple of months ago when we were discussing RV's final arc, "LLTK," I already predicted XO would comeback in early 2017. I didn't know for sure but like I said I had expected it. This teaser is nice but we've already seen 50+ issues starring XO since the relaunch. I'm less excited about XO's comeback than I would be about a new ongoing for Shadowman.TheeBaldMoose wrote:Yes yes yes... The most interesting detail about this teaser is Monika Palosz. I like her style.

Re: Impending Announcement?
XO Manowar is my fave VEI comic by far, ever has been since I first picked it up (around Planet Death, then caught up on back issues!) and I've always loved Shadowman so I'm really excited for 2017, with those two comics coming back and then more Bloodshot as well, awesome.Sunlight on Snow wrote:A couple of months ago when we were discussing RV's final arc, "LLTK," I already predicted XO would comeback in early 2017. Also, hopefully Harbinger Renegades will be really good too but I've yet to read it so we'll see. Still, gonna be a good year!
No matter what happens I'll always want Shadowman to be a super-dark horror comic, so here's hoping!

Re: Impending Announcement?
We're all on the same page when it comes to how a Shadowman series should be like. There's a niche for and lack of good super-dark horror comics... and Shadowman is the perfect character for such a book.Shadowman99 wrote:XO Manowar is my fave VEI comic by far, ever has been since I first picked it up (around Planet Death, then caught up on back issues!) and I've always loved Shadowman so I'm really excited for 2017, with those two comics coming back and then more Bloodshot as well, awesome.Sunlight on Snow wrote:A couple of months ago when we were discussing RV's final arc, "LLTK," I already predicted XO would comeback in early 2017. The first issue of Harbinger Renegade is good and the series has lots of potential to become great again. It's a good continuation of the whole Harbinger universe while already introducing/teasing the next major villain and of course it's cool to have Peter back and his new look (Jim Morrison-like) is pretty cool. Hard to imagine he stopped using though. On the other hand, I guess, it's hard to relapse when you're floating and meditating around Saturn.
And I really dig Darick Roberton's art - that's a huge bonus for me!
Does anyone know why they've changed the title from Renegades to Renegade in the last minute?

Re: Impending Announcement?
Makes sense in a way... as Solomon is another renegade to the Harbinger Foundation. I just thought the main reason for a new Harbinger volume was to bring Peter and the Renegades back. That's Peter and the Renegades on the cover of the first issue - not Solomon the Renegade. It's weird!SuperMage wrote:To show that the current title is focused on its villain the Renegade Solomon.Sunlight on Snow wrote:

I read somewhere that Solomon may be pulling the strings leading to 'getting the band back together again', so in a way it would be about both Solomon as 'The Renegade' and the group of 'The Renegades'.Sunlight on Snow wrote:Makes sense in a way... as Solomon is another renegade to the Harbinger Foundation. "Getting the band back together" is a saying when an old group gets back together. In this case Phoenix8008 is talking about the original Harbinger Kids getting back together.Sunlight on Snow wrote:What band?Phoenix8008 wrote:I read somewhere that Solomon may be pulling the strings leading to 'getting the band back together again', so in a way it would be about both Solomon as 'The Renegade' and the group of 'The Renegades'.Sunlight on Snow wrote:Makes sense in a way... as Solomon is another renegade to the Harbinger Foundation. Re: Impending Announcement?
I definitely recall reading that Solomon is instrumental in reforming the Renegades. I haven't read the first issue yet so I don't know if they reform with him alongside them initially and then part ways, or whether the Renegades reunite in reaction to Solomon's antagonism, but either way he'll definitely be part of it.FormerReader wrote:"Getting the band back together" is a saying when an old group gets back together. Re: Impending Announcement?
None of the above really. There's a prequel story that introduces Solomon, then there is the start of the kids getting back together with no sign on Solomon in the present day. Maybe he'll show up sometime in the first arc though.Shadowman99 wrote:I definitely recall reading that Solomon is instrumental in reforming the Renegades.
