I'm kinda put off by the floating holo-tablets the kids use. Have we seen tech like that elsewhere?

I didn't mind this comic so much, but I am hoping they face repercussions for the actions they take. Sure, this comic was for building characters, but when you kidnap the most popular girl in the school to question, let's hope there will be trouble. I'd lose faith in the comic if they let it slip.

I think part of the mystery surrounding the city of Rook is how & why they've suddenly become such a high tech boom town. My impression of that is that the tech they have there is unusually high-end.

A very good second issue, and much more of what I was expecting from a Gen Zero book than the first issue was. Anybody that read the first issue and called it quits there, I'd recommend you at least try #2 or maybe even the whole first arc before making up your mind. The first issue was very much a set up issue and not what I expect as things continue.

It's a long one too, we rambled on about XO quite a bit for the finale. I'm rather proud of my terrible crazy theory in that part :P

I laughed so hard at Gamete.

Loving this series way more than I thought I would.

Really liked the issue, the Zygos twins are really creepy.

Unfortunately, I didn't like the Gamete angle. I've been waiting since Armor Hunters for something awesome about a fetus that can somehow ward off utter destruction. Here, it was simply reduced to a punchline with Jedi mind tricks. I think the concept had so much more potential. Oh well.

But the rest of the book is terrific! :thumb:

+1

I'm really enjoying this series

I know it's been accused of being a teenage high school drama cliche ... Buts it's got so many interesting off beat touches to it.

And Dysart created these characters but FVL has been so great at being spot on in bringing out the best in each of the Gen Zero characters.

The creepiness of the Zygos twins

The free spirited strangeness of Cloud.

The youthful rebellious nature of Cronus

The coolness of Telic

The disgruntled maturity of animalia

And I thought Gamete was funny and compelling.

FVL consistently writes smart and interesting stories ... I can't wait to see where this story is going.
