Re: Valiant casting for secret project??
Many great movies can actually be released within about a year from the time filming begins. It's all relative to the pre-production work, the talent they hire for all areas if the film (catering to sfx editing included) and how much money they have to throw at it.lorddunlow wrote:Ed, do you have inside knowledge to base this "year or two" away on? If not, I don't see them happening in that timeframe. No way a movie is ready to release in less than 2 years with almost no industry buzz. Production schedules for film are such that it's impossible to keep everything hush hush. Release in less than two years would require them to be finished with pre-production and in the middle of actual production. Post-production and marketing for films can take a year or more, especially if there are many effects.paradise wrote:you are completely wrong. It is putting characters out there in a viral-style web way to create more anticipation for the movie releases which are AT BEST a year or two away. Let's not create something where nothing is there.Funcha wrote:Not to be a downer, because I do think this sounds cool, but this is starting to feel like the movie deal with Sony fell apart. Or maybe someone at Sony wants to see something to make them more comfortable with moving forward with a feature film? They haven't exactly been churning out blockbuster hits in recent years.
Of course, I could be completely wrong and this is just a fun side project to help build interest in things to come. Hard to tell with Valiant being all cloak and dagger about everything thus far.
I hope you're right, but it's beginning to feel like the movies might be in development hell. There is almost zero information on their production other than what VEI has released.
Even with the popularity of superhero movies, and Marvel in specific, some of the movies are hitting snags. The Inhumans movie is now not looking like it's going to happen and Marvel keeps adjusting it's schedule of films.
I'm not bashing VEI at all, and I can't wait for Valiant on the big screen. However, I see no indication that these movies have even started filming. Have there even been any casting leaks?
It's not that I don't have an avatar... I've just been working on it for the last few hundred years.

The girl reminds me of a landlord I had in a temp place I was renting for a few months. She was a model. Super hot. Did some video game stuff as well, if I recall. And then we had a terrible dispute about damage in the house (which was done before I arrived) and our departure date (which was made in writing). I'm trying not to let it bother me....

Looks like perfect casting for Livewire.
If the other fella isn't Gunslinger, perhaps he could be Aric with the right wig applied...

Ninjak's costume looks really close to the books and some of the other casting choices look spot-on. I tried to ask questions to Jason David Frank about anything and he wouldn't spill the beans. I think it is a no-brainer he's Bloodshot.

Re: Valiant casting for secret project??
Saw the above pic posted on ComicBookMovie.com, and in the article it also had a press release that I hadn't seen anywhere else yet...
The part I found most interesting though, was the next part...“We've been quietly working behind the scenes on this series since 2015 and are incredibly excited to be debuting the first look at footage this year at New York Comic Con. We've set out to make the best and most ambitious series ever produced in the digital space – one that will live up to the high standards we've set in publishing," said Valiant CEO & Chief Creative Officer Dinesh Shamdasani.
Films we knew were in motion, TV we maybe suspected they were considering as well (and I think some properties would just be AWESOME on TV like Netflix or HBO), but this is the first time I've heard anything about video game releases! Interesting news all around. They just need to be better than the old Ack-Lame video games, and not do team ups with other comic book universe characters!"As Valiant gears up for an upcoming slate of film, television and video game releases, we felt the timing was right to begin to produce live-action digital content that would both give ours fans an experience truly worthy of the Valiant Universe, while also introducing new fans to the Valiant characters in the same way the animated television shows of the 1980s and 1990s did for comics in years past. Get ready to lose your mind – seeing Ninjak in action for the first time in nothing short of incredible.”
