Well guys my favorite time of the year is coming early this year and with it the joys of fall. Salmon spawning, flyfishing in the rivers for 20 pound silver beasts, mushroom picking, El Día de Muertos/Halloween and of course the annual Valiant
pumpkin carving contest.
Contest runs Oct 1-31
The idea of this contest is to advertise Valiant by carving a Valiant comics themed pumpkin for your porch And give away dollar issues or your extra un wanted Valiant comics to age appropriate kids.
A. your saving kids a trip to the dentist by not giving out candy.
B. getting Valiant comics into the hands of new future readers.
And C. you could easily win something!
This year Im changing it up a bit so stay tuned, more news coming soon.
Time to start planning a design.
There is a "how to" somewhere in this forum.

I take it just carving a circle and calling it a Bloodshot pumpkin won't cut it? Perhaps I'll give carving a Dino pumpkin a try or Harada and Stanchek fighting or something. This'll be fun.
Egad, a base tone denotes a bad age!

If your proud of the effort you put into your Valiant pumpkin and you don't mind showing it around the net. Then you can carve anything you want.

This link is the pumpkin carving how to.

http://www.valiantfans.com/forum/viewto ... kin+how+to" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

As I'm reading the link it has information from the contest years ago. So don't focus on that part just the how to

this sounds like a great deal of fun! Now to find some comic books... I probably won't stray too far from my normal routine, but handing out the comics sounds pretty cool.

Anyone have any ideas on good $1 comics to hand out?

I give away all my extra comics. So last year Archer and Armstrong and quantum and Woody. Anything kid related. Also Harbinger and xo dollar issues and of corse free comic book day issues.
We need to put signs up and deck out our path to our back door. We also have a grave yard with glow sticks and a glow hand. And if I can I'll pull out my smoke maker if I still got it. I love Halloween so we pull all the stops. Christmas I turn green

All in all, I've probably got nearly $1k worth of Halloween decorations, it's by far my favorite holiday. For me, it's location, location, location. I just don't seem to get much traffic. 3 smokers, 3 strobes, multiple standing figures, grave sites, zombies crawling out of some of them (various stages). I try and capture the beginning of the Zombie Apocalypse.

Best day of the year though, November 1st! That's when you can go get most things at 50% off!! :thumb:

I think you need a "dead inside" sign obove the garage or maybe written in red on the garage door. Very nice man looks great. My place isn't half that.
