Complete 4001 AD time capsule for sale on eBay
What a pickle...I tracked down a 4001 AD time capsule in the wild, paid more than I should have for it, but damn this thing is cool. I would like to keep it, but on the other hand if anyone is interested, feel free to shoot me an offer. If there is a lot of interest and crazy numbers are happening, I might be convinced to part with it. Sorry for the wishy-washy nature of the post, but I'm just kind of on the fence with this one. Someone make up my mind for me!
UPDATE: I went ahead and put it on eBay, starting bid $350 since I already had a PM offer of that amount. http://www.ebay.com/itm/152212044874?ss ... 1555.l2649

"Just" the capsule or are the contents intact as well?GammaJosh wrote:What a pickle...I tracked down a 4001 AD time capsule in the wild, paid more than I should have for it, but damn this thing is cool. Re: Complete 4001 AD time capsule for sale...maybe
Everything is there. I was thinking of selling 1 or 2 of the Japanese language 4001 ADs, maybe one of the print sets. So it would come with at least one of everything that was included, but not ALL of everything that was included. There are also 2 promotional letters to the retailer included.

How many prints set were included in the time capsule?GammaJosh wrote:Everything is there. I was thinking of selling 1 or 2 of the Japanese language 4001 ADs, maybe one of the print sets. There were 5 of the Japanese 4001 ADs, is that correct?

2 complete sets of the prints, and you're correct, 5 copies of the 4001 AD variant.

Re: Complete 4001 AD time capsule for sale...maybe
Can someone post a picture. I missed out on the time capsule while I was getting ready to move/moving. The few I've found online aren't very good.
I'd really like to get my hands on a set of prints

I upload to imgur and then copy the image URL. When you go to post use put ["img"] before the start of the picture URL and ["/img"] after the URL. Don't use the quotation marks, those are to prevent the site from thinking I'm trying to link a picture.GammaJosh wrote:Sure...someone tell me how to post pics here! lol
Thanks in advance!

Re: Complete 4001 AD time capsule for sale...maybe
Thank you for the pictures! I'd very much like to own one of these, but I don't see that happening in the near future.
TBH, I'd recommend keeping it together with everything that came in it. Years from now I can see this being a sought after promotional item here on these boards. I'd assume it would be worth more if it was complete.
Heck, I'm still trying to find a Wrath of the Eternal Warrior Ax. I'll probably never have the VEI retailer promotional items in my collection.
Of course there is always this gem....
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wrath-of-the-Et ... Swll1Wy-l-" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It's the Bob Layton signature that makes it work $5k.

Just bumping since the listing ends tomorrow. Has anyone else seen any other time capsules come up for sale? http://www.ebay.com/itm/152212044874?ss ... 1558.l2649

The only other one was sealed and it was a buy it now. It was way under priced and the seller should have done a bid auction.GammaJosh wrote:Just bumping since the listing ends tomorrow. I've got a sealed one & keeping for now. Opening the capsule kills the value in my opinion.

What if the comics and prints are all banged up in there though? Everything was packed pretty loosely in there.michael wrote:I've got a sealed one & keeping for now. Opening the capsule kills the value in my opinion.
In my opinion, these things only have value to a handful of us nutty collectors, and who of us wouldn't want to have it open to look at the items inside or use the box to store other stuff? Keeping it sealed seems like catering to some new future buyer/collector that may not ever exist.
