Seems like there are plenty of fans still not interested in Valiant or don't know about it. Valiant does a lot to get into shops and have done enough great promotions. Shops need to take advantage. I try to bug every shop in SLC to do stuff like the time capsule and other sales incentives. I hope the Faith second printing does a lot because I feel it's a great chance to get a fun title to a lot of new readers.

Time capsule? What commercial wizardry is that?

They aren't supposed to be opened until 4001 AD #4 comes out the end of the month. Bleeding Cool did post a video of Rich opening one, but it was taken down within 24 hours.

It's sad to see a company that consistently puts out quality books on schedule sitting on the bottom of the ladder. I'm also disappointed to see DC's numbers so low compared to Marvel-less. DC's Rebirth books are turning out to be some of the best books they've put out in a couple of decades.

I'm afraid I'm not helping matters as I decided, for a variety of reasons, to drop every monthly title except Bloodshot Reborn and then simply wait for either the trades or the deluxe hardcovers. Valiant still gets money out of me, but they will have one less purchase on all their monthly titles other than Bloodshot.

I guess it balances out sometimes. I'm all-in on monthlies but never buy trades.

June 2016 Comic Channel Market Share


The jump from 10th to 8th seems real possible. Wonder, once the numbers are all completed, if the Faith release will move us up some. Thinking the 100k copies given away for free was maybe the "push" Valiant has tried for, just to get noticed. If this release does help in these numbers, how will it translate into continued success? How can they transition? More A&A readers (I'd imagine a few), Curious fans who are willing to explore (a few more)? Is the movie the big spark they are counting on?

8th is a great possibility, but can they stabilize and stay in that spot?

I missed this thread earlier, but today one of my LCS was giving away copies of Faith #1 2nd printing ... if this is happening nationwide, I definitely see a bump in Valiant's share of the comics pie growing.

And the shops received them for free. Hopefully more will give them out for free.
