This year's election sure is a hornet's nest and I am afraid this will not come out well. Especially if this is in support of what they see as the less of two evils. On the other hand, Louise Simonson usually writes good stories and Pere Perez is a wonderful artist.Keith wrote:https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/com ... nt-comics/

Is there going to be backlash if they just put this out but refuse to do the identity politics dance that Marvel and DC does for this sort of thing?
I bet Post readers think that the V is full of identity politics warriors like DC and Marvel.

Spider-Man had an Obama cover that went to four printings. Not a Romney anywhere.

If Romney had won, then wooden submarines from 2,500 B.C. would have visited Asgard.

Re: Hillary Clinton in Faith #5
Hillary is a vine planting. Maybe Faith can teach her how to use her email correctly and to stop lying to the American public. If this is not about trying to sway the vote, when will Trump be on the cover? Too bad it doesn't work that way. Leave politics out of comics, VEI!

VEI comics are, by their very nature, political. Politics can not (and should not) be left out. I applaud their choice.

Re: Hillary Clinton in Faith #5
Why do they need to be fair, especially in a liberal medium? Should Faith start calling Mexicans rapists or saying that all Muslims are terrorists?
And you don't get to use the argument of leaving politics out when they've already had appearances by politicians from all over the world.

Possibly, but I wouldn't look for any better treatment for Trump than Putin got in Divinity II.

I don't care for either candidate and I think it is sad that these two are the best that America can offer. I am tired of the liberal media bias and this is just another example.

I feel sorry for you Americans. On one hand you got a peice of work = trump. And on the other hand Hillary. Both are garbage choices for president. And your only good choice sanders go the boot. California has the total Canadian population your telling me with all these humans and potential presidents hillary and trump are the best you got. That in its self is sad. Hillary is a set up because everyone likes firsts and the first woman in will be the first choice most will make. Because voting for trump is idiocy. what's the point in voting at all sounds like the presidency organisation is making the choice for you.
Good luck ya all!

It was the politics of ideas so far, not something partisans could latch onto.gasstaxx wrote:VEI comics are, by their very nature, political. Politics can not (and should not) be left out. I applaud their choice.

I would dare Faith to call out the regressivness of most muslims or be forced to deal with it. What makes comic books a liberal medium? Is it the lines? The drawings? What? Why would it be constantly signaling leftwards a good idea for young upstart like Valiant? V has what 1% of the market or something. I bet there are more than 1% of Marvel and DC readers who are fed up with them pushing their fake lefty identity politics.Joshua wrote:Why do they need to be fair, especially in a liberal medium? Re: Hillary Clinton in Faith #5
The liberal media mentioned earlier: isn't VEI a liberal media? In my opinion, the perspective (read: bias) presented by the VEI writers, editorial, and production staff has been entirely consistent and entertaining since it's inception in 2012. So the cover of Faith #5, being an election special issue, remains consistent with the overall VEI mission, which has never been about presenting any of these falsely-dichotomous balanced perspectives. This cover seems to me a well-calculated risk.

Re: Hillary Clinton in Faith #5
If they would self identify as liberal media we would had known about it from the beginning. They would had jumped on the identity politics train qucickly instead of just telling everybody they are just writing good stories with whatever colored characters they come up with.gasstaxx wrote:The liberal media mentioned earlier: isn't VEI a liberal media? Valiant characters are pretty gray and interesting, it's out of character for them to do what Gail Simone's Movement did.
