BCW Valiant Themed Short Box!

I bought from BCW two days ago and with coupon, total was $99. That included shipping. The code I entered was PICKUP, which took off 10% if the price for 10 boxes.

I received my box today. It's pretty sweet. I picked up some other things to justify the shipping but it was worth it. I get all my boxes custom made bc I have to display them in the open. I have a custom Valiant box that probably is better.. But she charges me 25ish a box plus shipping.. But they are one of a kind..

The are only decoupaged on the outside of the box, but yeah I pay 25 plus shipping which pushes it to something like 36-42 bucks. I cant remember exactly.. & I just got a new one from her lol.. My mind is getting bad. I purchase one when I need them which is usually every 2-3 months so its not that big of a deal to me. Shes done every one of my boxes except the new Valiant box so theirs a continuity to my collection as well. She will do just about anything.. Shes good about communicating so you can tell her what you really want. She didnt know much about Valiant at all.. So I thought she did well. She did a Judge Dredd box fpr me that was pretty sweet as well.. The only knock is it usually takes her a month to get one completed, but I just usually order in advance & its no issue for me. If you'd like her ebay info, Id be happy to pass it along.

Aint that the truth? Every time I get a new box its like loosing a belt just a bit.. But saying "**Squee** I need some new pants!" The boxes are pretty heavy duty.. I recommend anyone that is gun shy about the shipping to order more stuff to make it worth it. If you can afford it, add a graded storage box to the bill & Im in love w the one I got!

Hmm, I'm based in Germany so the shipping cost for the themed boxes are quite expensive and I guess your ebay contact wouldn't be of great use for me either but thanks for the offer. About your customized boxes: Is the art directly painted or printed onto the blank boxes or are these decals?

I assume that would be quite expensive. Those are actual comic pages. She uses an art techinique called decoupage. She utilitzes some type of glue that gives the pages an overlaid finish that gives it an unique appearance. I have no idea how she does it, but its definitely not as easy as it sounds.. LoL

Ah, actual pages of an actual comic book! I didn't know what decoupage meant and forgot to google it before. Now that I did (watch some tutorials) it doesn't really seem to be so complicated anymore. My craftsmanship may be limited but not that limited and I'll definitely give it a try. I'll certainly do some test runs with 50c comics on random cardboard first.

After more than a year I thought it'd be time to not post any pics of my many failed attempts.

Well, I gave up trying a long time ago to be honest. Luckily, 2 or 3 weeks ago the owner of my LCS surprised me with a box full of boxes. Somehow he managed to order them from BCW or through Diamond. They look really great and I love to surprised like that. Life's good!
