I'm happy about Valiant being top 10 in both units and sales.

I'm surprised that DC didn't make more headway against Marvel with Rebirth. It looks like, if anything, DC took away from the other publishers compared to May. Of course, we can't draw many factual conclusions without knowing how overall comic book sales in June compared to May.

33 HARBINGER WARS TP
34 ARMOR HUNTERS TP VOL 1
35 FAITH TP VOL 01 HOLLYWOOD & VINE

That is great considering the Harbinger 2 TPB has been out since 2013. This means good reorders for it. I wonder if it still on the first printing.

These were the trades included in June's Comic Bento box.
They should hopefully pull in some new readers!

Edit. What I was going to write, I am surprised in the drop of rai numbers. 10% from last month. I was checking previous sales and thought overall Rai had higher numbers. It has good steady numbers even though start stop nature. Have not read 13 yet ( very behind) but surprised in the drop.

Rai hardcover goes up to 12. Maybe their was a jump in numbers with 13 but not sustained. I will be buying the hardcover aswell, just as I like the series so much.
I wish their was a Spinal Tap comic, and I had a copy CGC graded at 11.

Rai's story is very good.

Rai's artwork is stunning.

Rai's originality and concept are awesome.

I think this is a case of people lost in a fog and not exposing themselves to new, quality products such as this series.

The sales have been fairly steady too!

It does look small on your chart. I am always sceptical with charts, so used to financial charts trying to manipulate my opinions while presenting the facts. Charts that use their presentation arrangements to visually impair the facts.

NOT saying you are going that. Sorry sounds like I am angry. I'm not.

The sales are steady on your chart. The jump for 13 must be the hardcover. Shame it dropped back to the previous sales numbers..

I agree totally with you. People not taking the risk on new products on the market. Even I try random stuff off the shelf or if ANYONE suggests anything new or old I will hunt it down. People stuck it their ways. That must be the hardest part if any business - getting someone through the door ( so to speak).

Or as Garth said 'we fear change'
I wish their was a Spinal Tap comic, and I had a copy CGC graded at 11.

One of the reasons that "doomsayers" have disappeared is that their message has been proven wrong.

Valiant can't last 6 months.
Valiant will be done in a year.
Valiant won't make it past 2013.
Etc.

June 2016 was Month #50. Anyone who wants to "predict" that failure is imminent when things are steady at the start of the 5th year needs to have their crystal ball cleaned. :P

99.9% of books have somewhat of a decline per issue as a series continues, sucks, but a LOT of people just love to buy #1 issues and special issues, before getting bored and moving on to whatever shiny object is next.

There have been, however, a few spikes of note (e.g. specific issues that jumped above the previous month).
  • +16.17% - X-O Manowar #5 - 1st VEI Ninjak
    +9.12% - X-O Manowar #25 - Anniversary Issue
    +6.17% - X-O Manowar #38 - X-O Wedding Issue
    +5.83% - Bloodshot: Reborn #10 - The Analog Man
    +3.85% - Ivar, Timewalker #9 -
    +6.55% - Harbinger #11 -
    +4.29% - Harbinger #16 -
    +8.27% - Bloodshot #10 -

    +0.75% - Archer & Armstrong #3 - sold better than issue #2
    +4.54% - Archer & Armstrong #5 -
    +4.06% - Archer & Armstrong #10 -
    +3.84% - Archer & Armstrong #14 -

    +3.25% - Imperium #4 -
    +3.48% - Imperium #7 -
    +4.42% - Imperium #13 -

    +5.42% - Ninjak #4 -
    +4.00% - Ninjak #6 -
    +1.28% - Ninjak #10 -

Rai saw a steady/slow decline for issues #1 to #8, before a spike with #9, #10, and #11; all of which sold better than #8. This three issue increase in sales is not common, but did occur in the case of Rai. Shadowman #10 and #11 also sold better than #9.

    +1.73% - Rai #9 -
    +0.68% - Rai #10 -
    -1.20% - Rai #11 - (however, note that Rai #11 was +1.21 above Rai #8)

Both Divinity #3 and Divinity #4 sold better than Divinity #2

Kind of suprised XO didn't break 10k with the art giveaway. A 3k increase in recent numbers so that's a positive but I was expecting more.

Anyone think that sales number was where Dinesh and the crew would have anticipated? :?

There is usually a slight increase in sales for a special issue (e.g. Anniversary issue, Wedding Issue, #25, #50, #100, etc) but not as much as you might think.

While the first VEI appearance of Ninjak in X-O #5 was a huge jump, it was also the sort of issue that had a build in demand that had been waiting for many years.

From what I can tell, most of the time it's a +5%(ish) increase.

Yeah, but this giveaway was really creative so I thought it might be closer to 15k. Ah well I got the Lemire 1:50 so the lower print run means fewer copies of that book around!

The numbers read low...wonder what the threshold for Valiant is for a breakeven on a monthly?
