Harbinger #0 pink variant w/ original envelope
Just got this in the mail (no, not from VALIANT). This was from the original owner who kept the VALIANT envelope. Postmarked in 1993 and postage for 1st class mail was $1.21. There are a couple of spine creases on the comic but I was mostly interested because it came with the VALIANT envelope. There can't be to many around like this. Now to track down the Magnus #0 with VALIANT envelope . . .

Very cool!
That 1993 postmark proves that these are technically post-Unity books, but the requirement to have all 6 coupons from Harbinger #1 - #6 in order to receive the book has most collectors considering their pre-Unity sets incomplete without Harbinger #0 Pink and Magnus #0.
I believe I have also seen these envelopes with December 1992 postmarks.

Re: Harbinger #0 pink variant w/ original envelope
I couldn't make out the month/date of the postmark as it is slightly smeared. The 1992/1993 difference could be due to when the coupons were sent to VALIANT. Maybe VALIANT were mailing out the pink Harbys as the coupons were received rather than mailing them out all in a single batch.greg wrote:Very cool!

I think a few other members have the original envelope with the pink Harby. But I don't recall seeing a Magnus #0 with its original envelope.

Re: Harbinger #0 pink variant w/ original envelope
I believe that many were damaged in the first mailing and later replaced by VALIANT that could be the reason for varying dates, I received two originally from the company and I also remember it being many months between sending in the coupons and receiving the books. I would have had a couple more but the harby 4 coupons were really hard to come by.

Yes Greg harb #0 is technically a post unity comic as confirmed by Jim shooter...he stated that when he was hired to write unity 2000 he went back and read most of the comics of vh2...he also read some of the post unity vh1..and specifically commented on how he had read harb 0 for the first time as it was created after his departure..

Interesting. It was definitely planned during his tenure, the coupon was in Harbinger #1.valiantdude wrote:Yes Greg harb #0 is technically a post unity comic as confirmed by Jim shooter...he stated that when he was hired to write unity 2000 he went back and read most of the comics of vh2...he also read some of the post unity vh1..and specifically commented on how he had read harb 0 for the first time as it was created after his departure..

Even though Magnus #0 arrived after Unity, it was the first Valiant universe story written.

Re: Harbinger #0 pink variant w/ original envelope
I was fortunate enough to buy two of every copy of Harbinger, so i could cut the coupons and still have one with coupons. I still my Harbinger #0 Pink, which is the pride of my collection/ And i still have the original envelope it came in. It was a cardboard envelope. I'm happy to take a photo and post it on here if anyone wants to see it.

That's awesome. Go ahead and post a pic. Let's see if it's the 1992 or 1993 postmark variant. The Chosen 1 wrote:I was fortunate enough to buy two of every copy of Harbinger, so i could cut the coupons and still have one with coupons. That's cool, ckb. Your 1992 envelope did not have the "DO NOT BEND" stamp. I guess after all the damaged comics, they decided to stamp the envelopes in 1993.

I was watching that on ebay. For some reason I didn't place a bid on it. I thought the envelope was cool too. Almost cooler than the book itself!iggy101us wrote:Just got this in the mail (no, not from VALIANT). This was from the original owner who kept the VALIANT envelope.
