This is a title I can see being vastly better then it was in the 90's.

Re: Psi-Lords Coming Soon
This could be awesome. I guess it might crossover with RAI?
Here is the wiki entry for the old comic series: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psi_Lords" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It's on my future buy list. Though this team was originally born out of the death of Toyo Harada in 2999 ... Hmm. I guess I shouldn't feel bad as people die but I guess I still feel comic book characters are all immortal.
Edit: Do we know anything about who will be writing it and doing the art and colors?

Re: Psi-Lords Coming Soon
This one doesn't actually say "coming soon." And we know these FCBD teasers don't always mean a new series. Could be just their re-debut. Perhaps in Rai.
But I'd love a Josh Dysart Psi-Lords series as the next chapter of Harbinger.

I would guess an appearance in Rai similar to the Armorines in XO...but have nothing factual to base that on.BugsySig wrote:This one doesn't actually say "coming soon." And we know these FCBD teasers don't always mean a new series. Could be just their re-debut. Perhaps in Rai.

Re: Psi-Lords Coming Soon
that wiki isn't quite correct. The H.A.R.D. Corps actually fled Earth because the Harbinger War was going bad for the human/renegade side. It was shortly after that Harada was defeated in an "out of left field" assault by one of Pete Stancheks descendants. The H.A.R.D. Corps never responded to any messages from Earth.Psiot X wrote:Though this team was originally born out of the death of Toyo Harada in 2999 ... Hmm. No clue on creative team, I think this is the first solid evidence that something Psi-Lord related is actually in the works.

Re: Psi-Lords Coming Soon
H.A.R.D. Corps + Bloodshot nanites = having database of all powers available internally and being able to switch on the fly your own powers without needing home base team, plus extended lifespan. Each of them having all powers became too much after one went evil, so the reprogrammed all into 3 categories that each had 1/3 of the powers. Scouts had flight, invisibility, ghost mode, etc. Tanks had super strength, invulnerability, etc. And the other group had most of the ranged attack powers and shields.omega_override wrote:Future versions of H.A.R.D. Re: Psi-Lords Coming Soon
I'm curious to see if this will be in the 4001 era of characters or prior. Our only mention of the Psi-Lords thus far has been in the Fall of Bloodshot after he was kidnapped by (presumably) aliens sometime in the future:
End assumption - the Psi-Lords are active a long time before 4001 AD.
And then we see that Bloodshot returns to Earth much later and eventually dies, with some kind of resurrection occurring during the 4001 AD event. The crew explained that the battlefield was on one of the distant worlds Earth had colonized after the Psi-Lords returned.

I'm not to familiar with these characters, but having another title set in 4001 A.D, is definitely a good thing.

This tickles my pleasure bone! Can't wait to find out what kind of modern take they'll have on the idea, I always thought there was at least a kernel of a good concept behind the original series.

I always though it was a good concept, but just poorly executed. I think another problem with Valiant at that time (my opinion) was after Shooter left they ran out of good ideas and gave us a bunch of derivatives i.e. Armorines, Secret Weapons, and Psi-Lords.

I'm already looking forward to this.
Psi-Lords returns!
While their original series had some charm it's a property that no doubt can be expanded and improved upon.

Re: Psi-Lords Coming Soon
Agreed on all points - it was a pretty good idea otherwise that didn't have to be tied back to the HARD Corps of all things.FormerReader wrote:grendeljd wrote:This tickles my pleasure bone! Despite that, I would really like to see it tie in to the future world of psiots as written by Joshua Dysart in various Harbinger & Imperium stories - if it has to be tied to something else in the Valiant universe that feels like more of a natural fit.

The original concept sounds cool too.

What was so bad about the original series? This and Armorines are always slagged on.

Re: Psi-Lords Coming Soon
Ya'know, I can't even tell you what people didn't like about the original Psi-Lords because I thought it was great. I understand the grumbling on Armorines, as it was a little flat and just like HARD Corps with the soldiers all working under orders that they didn't always like. The characters and their relationships were okay, but nothing spectacular that held my attention.dornwolf wrote:What was so bad about the original series? This and Armorines are always slagged on.
Psi-Lords was epic to me. Great ideas for tying together the past of HARD Corps fleeing the planet after the Harbingers Wars and returning as barely human super dooper soldiers. They had a mysterious leader, unknown goals, and I loved how they started the series from the perspective of a normal human that is just meeting them and learning about them and their strange ways. The character dynamics on the team were more interesting to me, and seeing them change the political landscape around President Magnus was cool. I'd also be interested to hear why others thought badly of the series (or maybe I need to go read it again). Unless they're just hating on the Valiant Vision coloring, I'm not sure why most people seem to have disliked it.

Agreed and for many of the same reasons. I thought the cast interactions and conflict were good. And I really enjoyed the Ravenrok arc.Phoenix8008 wrote:Ya'know, I can't even tell you what people didn't like about the original Psi-Lords because I thought it was great.

Re: Psi-Lords Coming Soon
I always liked Psi-Lords. The only VH1 book that really fell flat for me was Secret Weapons after the change from VALIANT's Avengers/JLA, to a very generic super-suit team.
