I'm leaning towards the series ending but perhaps a mini-series to close it out, a la Shadowman.

Perhaps to lead into the new Harbinger series that has been teased for a while.

I was at C2E2 this past weekend. While at a booth, an employee did mention to me that what was coming next for Imperium is crazy good. Even better than the stuff going on now.

Don't want to double post but I just realized that Rai's look changed permanently. I was originally thinking that the red arm/side look was just a wound that would be healed eventually. It seems though in an effort to have Rai not look like Bloodshot 4001 basically they moved his red circle to the side and expanded it. I fell so dumb for just now noticing.

It probably has more to do with the controversy over the imperial Japanese flag look.

I'm not sure why VEI can put out two Bloodshot books in a month but can't put out one Imperium book. I don't mind them taking breaks between arcs, but I wish they could fill the slot with something so the series doesn't lose momentum. An annual, a #0, or something else. 4001 seems like a missed opportunity to have the whole line tie into an event without having to interrupt the current storylines, this would have been a really good time to have a Harbinger or Psi-Lords 4001 AD special.

If by high ratio, you mean the one they're making the least of, the cover art you posted with the coloroful picture of the female cosmonaut from issue #2 out in May is the 1:10, not the high ratio one.

While that controversy was silly, I do quite like the thematic development of him being an agent of Japan draped in their classic flag, then realizing it was bad and switching to something closer to the simple circle on white. It's like he went from imperial to secular Japan through his personal journey. Which is nice visual storytelling.

That is a beautiful explanation. I don't know if it'd ever be that deep in reality but thats a great way to take it.

He has said on his facebook page that he is taking another travel leave soon to do research for another one of his Living Level 3 comic projects. Pretty sure he has also said in interviews recently that he is coming back to VEI after that. In the meantime, I don't know what that means for Imperium.
