How is the quality of the statue? Say compared to Sean Chen's Solar?Ricomortis wrote:I've had mine for two or three weeks now...

So...
Did ANYone here actually receive the Black Shirt variant
?
Hate to be Captain Obvious, but seems like if someone (else) had, they woulda' posted about it by now
.
It weren't me
, but I am still SERIOUSLY interested in acquiring it, should someone from here be lucky enough to receive it.
Please LMK,
-B
***P.S. OTOH, if that fails to come to fruition, did anyone from here receive #1? I inquired a few different places about whether these were numbered (at all); if they were ALL "1 of 300"; or if they were actually individually numbered. NOone was able to confirm one way or the other before-hand, but it turns out they ARE individually numbered. If anyone from here's the owner of #1, and would be interested in a swap, please hit me up. FWIW, mine is also low-numbered; I have #18.

Ed is still shipping them out if they were bought from him. I suspect an uptick in statue discussions once we receive the statues.

Is Quarantine doing some kinda' "special" presentation for it; IOW, not during the original ship-outs of this run of 300? Or I'm I to take that it's total bullsh!t that they're even giving one away?
Again, just curious why you'd state that

Re: Quarantine Studio Bloodshot statue.
There should be no black variant. It was something Quarantine suggested to us as a way to help direct sales. We rejected the idea because we felt it would put retail stores at a disadvantage. Unfortunately, Quarantine began promoting the variant until we reminded them we had rejected it. Unless they continued to forget that the promotion was not approved there should be no black variant.

There you have it from the man himself. I'd ask the studio to make the black variant for the VEI offices. Just saying ...dino wrote:There should be no black variant. Well, there is at least one; the prototype that they promoted.
I'm personally happy with the notion of no variant statue. Will be interesting though to see how this plays out.

And right there's the crux of it. Had we (meaning me) known well early on (IOW, when I ordered itDirtbagSailor wrote:Well, there is at least one; the prototype that they promoted.

I placed this order two months ago; they were promoting the Black Shirt variant then; I checked back at least once I week to see a "status", and they were still doing it then. Again, had I known they were full of sh!t and had NO plans to give one away (and were NEVER authorized to do so, which is why they NEVER should've promoted it as such

Those Muther F&ckers

So, to Ed, I would like to personally apologize for not ordering it from Paradise

Granted, some here (and probably most) might think my reaction to this is a bit over the top (and I sincerely could not give a sh!t less if they do); but I think it goes without saying I was personally attached/invested on the off-chance of winning/getting that Black Shirt variant either from Quarantine or working out something with the actual winner; and now finding out there never was a chance to get it to begin with really just rubbed my rhubarb in the wrong direction, if you follow.
I won't make that mistake again

So, to Ed, I would like to personally apologize for not ordering it from Paradise. They dangled that carrot and I went for it. I don't "have" to apologize for that, but I'm man enough to admit I was wrong, now that I have complete information, which I didn't have at the time. It was NEVER meant to be a slight to you; I just really, really wanted my, uhm, "shot" at getting that Black Shirt variant, and that was supposedly the ONLY way to do so.

Don't get me wrong; I am WELL-aware there are far more important things to be *SQUEE* off about. But what Quarantine did was just straight-up wrong. I don't mean to "just" me; it was ANYone that purchased from them, especially if they bought from them instead of from Ed.
I think that's f&cked up, and I freely admit, I did take that personally.

I won't be buying anymore items from them. It still says on thier website if you buy directly from them, you will be entered to win the variant ones.

Re: Quarantine Studio Bloodshot statue.
I bought from Ed, but I was very tempted to buy directly from Quarantine, solely because of the variant. I probably would have if I hadn't purchased it already.
I read this on the site now:
Order today and get automatically entered in our EXCLUSIVE GIVEAWAY. Here is your chance to own a one of a kind Bloodshot Statue. There will be multiple prizes, each unique and ONE OF A KIND. But the ONLY way to win is to purchase direct from Quarantine Studio.
Also see this:
As a bonus for purchasing this Bloodshot statue direct from Quarantine Studio, you will receive free shipping (See Details Below) on Bloodshot and a Limited Edition print featuring the art of David Aja. Limited to 300 units Worldwide.
Is the print exclusive?
I'm surprised nobody has picked apart the pose of this statue yet. I used to own a miniature company, albeit much smaller scales. I couldn't produce a mini without 100 people ripping it apart. I know that this is based on the Aja cover, but the way he's holding the gun is awkward. I think that the sword should be at an angle, not straight on the back. There is also the premise of having a red dot on the shirt.

I thought the same thing. But moreover, I think the pose looks pretty passive for such a character. But I was reluctant to knock it (and still am).nycjadie wrote: I think that the sword should be at an angle, not straight on the back.
