From Amazon:

I wonder what it would be like to be a lonely, muck-encrusted monster? Probably be an improvement.

That X-O DLX 3 seems odd. They already covered all of that and then some in the Armor Hunter's DLX. I was expecting 30-40something and 0 in the DLX vol 3.

I thought about that myself, but then I realized you couldn't skip an entire run of X-O in the hardcover series just because it had already been included elsewhere. What if if someone is only reading X-O? So at first it irritated me, but it made sense the more I thought about it.

Is that Eternal Warrior hardcover listing actually a new listing, or is it the one that's been lingering for years. I'd be happy if the book did come out, but at this point was hoping more for an omnibus.

Its a brand new listing.

I'm ok with the XO Deluxe vol.3 issues even if some are repeated.

I'll believe the Eternal Warrior Masters when it happens. I'm skeptical at this point.

Considering the prices that EW #4 is fetching on eBay now, the collection might be a more attractive purchase for some now, that want to read the originals.
If you're not a *SQUEE*, you're okay with me.

The best way to read Eternal Warrior #4 (1992), if price is a concern, is the Valiant Era trade paperback (1994).

Great point. See that for $2 at every convention it seems like.

That cheap? I was actually going to say that digitally is the cheapest way, but enough people prefer reading hard copies. Also, there's a good chance that readers new to Valiant don't know what that trade contains.

That could actually be an interesting list to make; all of the options for reading the Valiant Universe.

Just to confirm to make sure I am not missing anything, if I have the Armor Hunters Deluxe HC already, I do not need to buy the X-O Deluxe Volume 3 HC because X-O 23-29 and Armor Hunters 1-4 are included in the AH HC? Am I missing something? I hope not because that saves some money for my next order.

Thanks,

Michael

X-O MANOWAR DELUXE EDITION BOOK 3 HC
Collecting X-O MANOWAR #23–#29 and ARMOR HUNTERS #1-4
Armor Hunters Deluxe Edition HC
Collecting Armor Hunters #1-4, Armor Hunters: Aftermath #1, Armor Hunters: Bloodshot #1-3, Armor Hunters: Harbinger #1-3, Unity #8-11 and X-O Manowar #23-29
Yep, if you own Armor Hunters, looks like no need for X-O volume 3

So, are there any recommendations of Armor Hunters HC vs. X-O Deluxe 3?

I feel like I got a little burned on Harbinger Wars, because I don't care much for Bloodshot, and there was a lot of rehashing in the various issues. Still, it's not that much more for twice the issues. But if I'm mainly only interested in X-O going forward, will having or not having those other issues matter?

The Harbinger tie-in series isn't central to the AH plot, but the Bloodshot one kind of sorta is as it details what happens to one of the AHs that, if I'm not mistaken, isn't told anywhere else. Not required reading by any means, but that's the difference.

On the other hand, the XO volume will have issue 25 in its entirety, while it appears Armor Hunters will have only the relevant material from that issue.

So which would you rather have? Assuming, that is, you only buy one. Myself, I'm getting both.
I wonder what it would be like to be a lonely, muck-encrusted monster? Probably be an improvement.
