Valiant Database Reloaded
So I noticed I hadn't posted any updates to the original Valiant Database thread and since so much has changed in the past few months, I figured I'd create a new post with the latest stuff (hope that's cool admins). If you've been visiting you're already familiar with most of these changes, but if not enjoy.
All new profile page includes this week/next week's releases, last 5 books added, the friend's activity list as well as links to commonly used items like collection/wishlist pages, etc. The menu system has been reworked a bit and includes links to each era of Valiant, solicit info, keys info, links to other Valiant related sites, etc. Notice that search button is now front and center. It still needs some advanced search options but it's very functional.

As people began adding their collections and those collections grew, there was a lot of interest in having more sorting capabilities to find your books. I decided to divide the collection pages by era as well so you can see all your books, or just those belonging to a particular era. Within these pages, you can also select a title from the dropdown to see just books you own with that title. The export to Excel function remains in place of course.

We all know Valiant fans love to share their collections so there is a new Top 25 section which has been very active.

Really, the database is about the books though so every title has its own page with an identifying banner (well, VEI does, classic and Acclaim will down the line). The new title pages still give you the number of books in that page, but now also let you sort by type (Regular cover, variant, paperback, hc, promo, etc) or by issue number which is particularly useful for books that have tons of variants (looking at you Bloodshot Reborn!). Notice that books that have not been released do not have a little heart icon to add to collection (because that wouldn't make sense).

Speaking of books, there is tons of information for each issue that has been added. Of course, there is information for creative teams (including letterers now, inkers soon), as well as editorial staff. If Diamond has released sales numbers, you will also see them listed here. If a book has a ratio (say 1:10 or 1:20) the db will calculate an estimated sales number for these books (including if it's a linewine variant). You will also see links to purchase trades here, links to see preview images if available, links to video trailers if available, etc. If you own an issue, you may also change the quantity owned from this page. I am working on character bio pages so if appearances have been added to a book, you will be linked to the character bios from within the NOTE section. Of course, you can click on Summary to see the solicit for the book, or Variants to see the variants for that book (or the A cover if its a variant).

A sample character bio page

If you own sketch covers, you can add them to the database (though they require approval to be published.

There is an all new design for the solicitations pages which are more in line with what you may find in Previews. Of course, the variants are listed here as well.

The newest thing is sales data. There are a few different pages with sales data right now and more will be added over time. The first, is a 12 month sales trends page listing every book, their sales numbers, +/- change from previous month, total for the year for each book, and monthly and yearly totals for the line.

You may also want to see just what the top selling books have been so there is a page listing the top book for each month with sales numbers and number of variants as well as a top trades for each month.

The latest page is a little more in depth. We all know Diamond numbers can be a little deceiving so I have added a page that tracks average and median sales per month and charts it in a nice visual format to see.

Of course, there are pages for keys/first appearances for both VEI and classic Valiant

As well as reading order pages for events from both VEI and classic Valiant

As always, any suggestions for stuff you'd like to see are more than welcome. I pretty much add new things to the site every week, http://www.valiantdatabase.com

Thank you so much for creating this database!!! It is the best way for me to keep track of what I still need without having to write crap down on paper.

Fantastic work with the database, good sir! I must find time to start logging all my collection in there.
