Because I'm new to Valiant again...
I know 2012 saw Valiant make a big explosion of awesomeness; however, how are sales now? I assume the future looks bright but, once again, I'm new and am playing catch-up.

Re: Because I'm new to Valiant again...
The 2012 launches had decent numbers, with the per issue numbers drifting gradually down. However, the announcement of the movie deal earlier this year seems to have helped numbers somewhat, and there certainly seems to be new people interested in the line. Their booth seemed to do very well at NYCC a couple of weeks ago.
If you're not a *SQUEE*, you're okay with me.

Cool. What type of budget do they have for the movies?kjjohanson wrote:The 2012 launches had decent numbers, with the per issue numbers drifting gradually down. If you want numbers, this is the best you're going to get:Dustin wrote:So, I read it. Where are we at now?Keith wrote:Here's a blast from the past to show some of the fun you've missed out on:

Keep in mind this is just Diamonds estimates from September. Other venues , like foreign markets and digital, are not reflected in those stats.

I'm more curious about insider or VF's view of things. I'm in the process of catching up on all VEI stuff via hardcover and/or TPB. I'll then move to singles when I'm caught up. I've debated going digital and TPB/HC, but I'd like to eventually have a comic in my hand.Keith wrote:If you want numbers, this is the best you're going to get:Dustin wrote:So, I read it. I guess I'd hate to go all in and then VEI slowly go away.

I've never liked that we, as fans, have to concern ourselves about sales or ratings when it comes to the things we love. I know most of the folks around here have a vested interest that goes beyond casual fandom, but popularity does not dictate merit! Ask Los Del Rio or NASCAR (sorry NASCAR fans).
But we certainly want Valiant to be around forever and ever....and *SQUEE* ever.

I understand that swearing demonstrates a lack of inspired vocabulary, but I also don't give a *SQUEE*.

Totally agree and understand. I just want the universe to last if I'm jumping all in.bRai wrote:I've never liked that we, as fans, have to concern ourselves about sales or ratings when it comes to the things we love. As someone who just "Johnny 5'd" a crap ton of TPBs, I'm with you. That's why I'm keeping the 1992 Valiant in a mental time-capsule.
Those are all on the Scribd service, by the way. If you're just looking to read, I can't recommend it enough.
