Looking forward to it. Also glad it's an ongoing.

I like that we are getting some different creators in the mix.

That first arc sounds like fun, looking forward to it.
Don't be afraid of the Darque!
Re: NYCC: Valiant Launches New Archer & Armstrong Series
With Ivar ending and A&A going to new creators, hopefully Valiant will find something for Fred.

But for how long?? If this started out as a one-shot proposal, then how far can we realistically expect it to go on for? I hope it's actually an ongoing, and not just an 'unannounced stealth maxi-series'.jeremycoe wrote:Looking forward to it. Also glad it's an ongoing.

Re: NYCC: Valiant Launches New Archer & Armstrong Series
The first series started as a 4-issue (maybe 5) series, and lasted 27 issues. I'd be fine with something similar here. I think it's probable that as long as it's selling ok (whatever that means for VEI) that it will continue.Phoenix8008 wrote:But for how long?? It seems wrong to not have Fred Van Lente writing this book...
...but having David Lafuente on it seems ohhhhhhhh so right.....
Plus I just found out he's Valiant exclusive? Fist pump!

I'm sure if FVL was interested in writing it VEI would let him. He's stated on numerous occasions he told the story he wanted to tell.Donovan wrote:It seems wrong to not have Fred Van Lente writing this book...

Good point. And in no way did I mean that as a criticism or a complaint. It's just all I know on the title so far, so it's a change and not necessarily a bad one!jeremycoe wrote:I'm sure if FVL was interested in writing it VEI would let him. Not sure about the art...Armstrong's fist is bigger than Archer's head now??

As much as I love Archer & Armstrong and love having them back seeing that Lafuente is Valiant exclusive is making me SO hyped! He's awesome.Donovan wrote:It seems wrong to not have Fred Van Lente writing this book...

I'm not sold on the creative team, but I'll most likely, pick up the first arc or two, like I did with the last run.

I am on the minority here but I am really not liking the art style. In fact so far I am hating it. Here is hoping the story is half good and like someone else said already - I hope we don't get dead dropped.

Re: NYCC: Valiant Launches New Archer & Armstrong Series
Yeah, it's good to change things up now and again. And it will be a maxi, like most of Valiant's stuff these days. I'm getting used to the idea. Ya gotta give people jumping on points.Joshua wrote:I like that we are getting some different creators in the mix.

Re: NYCC: Valiant Launches New Archer & Armstrong Series
Sounds fun, I'm looking forward to it. It'll be interesting to see how it compares to the perfection that was the last run. There's so much FVL in the characters that it feels weird to see them written by anyone else...

Re: NYCC: Valiant Launches New Archer & Armstrong Series
Happy to hear the 1st story will center around the Satchel - that artifact feels largely overlooked in all the stories to date. I'll miss FVL at the helm of A&A, but I'm open minded about new creators taking over the series.
