hhmmmm... How it all began...

Well for me it began in 1993. I went with my mother to this old lady's house. The old lady had been watching her grandson, but was unable to this day so my mother went to the lady's house to watch the boy for her. I was 10 years old at the time, and the lady's grandson was around 8 or 9. He was sorting cards on the floor while I was watching Captain America on TV. The boy had the nerve to tell me that Captain America, and Marvel comics were worthless. Well as a lover of Marvel comics I was not about to take this from anyone. I had this discussion with many DC comic fans (which I now read), and I was not going to treat this boy any different. I walked over, and was going to say something about his comics until I saw that they were comics I had never heard of. I did not fail to mention to this boy that I had never even heard of these before. Well to my astonishment he said, "here take these." What he gave me were two issues of Harbinger #'s 8, and 18, and an entire set of Valiant comics tradeing cards. I still have the comics, but I lost every one of the cards.

That is how I entered the Valiant universe...

Yes indeed, welcome to the boards. BTW those cards should be pretty easy to replace now (cheap too).

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

My friend showed me his Magnus #2... and the artwork blew me away. My favorite cover of all time is Harbinger #7... and I really collected for the cover art.
The covers captivated me before the storyline set it in stone.
