Re: What video game are you currently playing?
SHINING FORCE RAWKS! I played the HECK out of that game on the Genesis. So sad that some of the cooler characters weren't findable till right before the end of the game. The Ninja hiding in the bushes along the path. That game has so many good memories. I still get a smile out of my oldest son that played it anytime I say nothing but "10, 9...." in a menacing voice (The beginning of the countdown for the Laser Canon to recharge on one map level). And the title screen and travel music will be forever etched in my brain (and my wife's as well, to her disappointment). "Doot-do-do, doo-doo-doo-doot-do-do". Sorry for gushing so much, but Shining Force is one of my favorite games of all time. Shining Force 2 is also pretty good. I wish there were more games like those still around.Dr Noel wrote:I Just finished The Shining Force, a 21 year old pseudo-RPG for the sega genesis (I have it on the virtual wii). Pretty simple but tons of fun if you like old school games like me.
As for what I'm playing - Dragon Age: Inquisition is sucking up all my free time currently, with AC: Rogue waiting in the wings after that. Loving DA:I so far. So much great stuff in that game.

Finished Far Cry 4 a little while back. Great addition to the franchise and plenty to do. Huge game as usual with a few improvements in the combat area and some decent tweaks to the weapons. Story is decent and I like how this time around they eliminated the action prompt sequences (most were just annoying anyhow). The addition of the mini copter was very cool as well. Can't wait to see what they do for the next installment.

I'm struggling to finish Dragon Age: Inquisition. Great game, but good lord is it long. Meanwhile, Dying Light is beckoning me with it's siren song of zombie slaying satisfaction.
Good Morning, that's a nice tnetennba.

I already sold DA:I though, didn't like the first one or this one either. As someone who used to be a Bioware fanboy, I haven't liked any of their EA produced games Post-Mass Effect 2.
I've been trying to play less video games recently (so I can study and such) but my most recent ones are Banner Saga and Super Smash Bros. Although I'm trying to play less SSB so that my friends can actually stand a chance against The King

Like killing Nazis? Try The Saboteur. I must've played that game a half dozen times already. I'm about due for another play through!Brother Darque wrote:Wolfenstein: The Old Blood.

Pandemic Studios I believe is closed down and I don't think the game made enough for EA to contemplate moving it to another team.Daniel Jackson wrote:That was a great game. Finally made it to Batman Arkham Origins. I know Rocksteady didn't do it but still pretty solid regardless.

Re: What video game are you currently playing?
That's a shame about Pandemic, but hopefully someone else can pick up the franchise. I've played the first two Batman games and enjoyed both (although, they did push my limit as far as button mashing goes). I've been holding off on Origins, because some of the reviews didn't sound the greatest.dornwolf wrote:Pandemic Studios I believe is closed down and I don't think the game made enough for EA to contemplate moving it to another team.Daniel Jackson wrote:That was a great game. Re: What video game are you currently playing?
The button mashing doesn't really change in AO, the game map kind feels like a reskin of Cities. The main thing I've always disliked across all the games is the Riddler items I hate them, there are so friggin many. The game itself though is fine, if you've enjoyed the previous ones theres really no reason not to enjoy this one. I know early reviews didn't help it any, I had the same reservations but I'm also finding more and more that buying brand new games within the first year of release is just a bad idea 90% of the time lately.Daniel Jackson wrote:That's a shame about Pandemic, but hopefully someone else can pick up the franchise. Metal Gear games rock, even if they are all as mad as a box of frogs. Actually, wasn't keen on the demo I played of the one where Raiden cuts everything with his sword though. Couldn't get on with that.Brother Darque wrote:Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.

Rayman Legends. I really love these games. The level designs are like the Sonic levels of old that are almost Zen-like in their precision speed run style. Feels like learning a piece of music as you at over and over to perfect a stage and complete all tasks. Very relaxing game.

Re: What video game are you currently playing?
Played a demo of Rayman Legends, loved every moment of it. Zany game, but very simple in places and frustratingly difficult in others, which was highly enjoyable as the 'frustrating' bits are very obviously meant to be quite a challenge! Know what you mean when you say it's like learning to play a piece of music on an instrument though, it definitely has that same feeling about it. Will hopefully get around to giving the full version a try some day though. Y'ever played the original Rayman though? Lovely game but hard as nails.lorddunlow wrote:Rayman Legends. I'm currently playing Bioshock 2. Got fed up with it first time around and gave up on it. Seem to be getting on with it better this time around.

I bought Madden this year; I really miss the NCAA game though. A little disappointed that the franchise-type areas are just loot grinds. I also got Peggle 2 and have been playing the fool out of that.
Next game I am looking forward to is Fallout 4. Fallout 3 is an all-timer.

Re: What video game are you currently playing?
Finished my first playthrough of Until Dawn last night. So much fun. Probably 8hrs on the in-game clock, but I likely played about 10-12 hours for the first playthrough when you count in reading the clues I picked up and watching videos that are triggered by pickups in the game.
I'm just as excited for a second, and third or more, playthrough.
I only saved 2 characters out of 8...

Playing The Amazing Spider-man movie game, half to admit it's a bit "loose" control wise. Not a perfect open world Spider-man game but they are getting closer. Plot wise, it's hampered by the movie a lot.
