Re: Long Term Collectability of modern comics
Until the announcement of the end of the series, I thought Invincible was just one, well-crafted animated series away from being the next big thing. Like Greg pointed out, the Big Keys from this era will have to come from books that changed pop culture and, as of now, it seems TWD is the only candi...

Re: Long Term Collectability of modern comics
I personally think that commissions and original art is the way to go as far as collectible. Unique pieces numbered to less than 1,000 are worth their weight in gold. As far as reprint TPBs go- I have a nearly complete set of Sandman. But I won't read them... I'll read the TPBs instead and not dama...

Great discussion guys. I'm enjoying seeing your thoughts. Here is another question. Will key issues remain key issues in the future? Here are a couple books for discussion: Batman #232 - First Ra's al Guhl House of Secrets #92 - First Swamp Thing Thoughts? Both undervalued, as are many similar book...

Re: Undervalued Gems
I'll add to the 1980s recommendations by recommending the newsstand editions of those books. I've probably already mentioned this before, but it's advice to combine with options for first appearances. For example, Amazing Spider-Man #300 is the first full Venom story, and there are newsstand copies...

Awesome post right here. As you can imagine, silver and old holos in the uk have always been a nightmare to get, though when seen are normally £2-5 depending on grade. I buy multiples when in bargain bins/sales etc. I now have 140 boxes of indy to go through and even my standard UV collection is inc...

My downfall is Breed. Loved the title have all the issues. Wish Starlin would return the character I think he could fit in Marvel's Dark side of its universe nicely. He did a 'Breed III mini-series with Image a few years ago. It was... forgettable? I want to say that maybe it tied in with Wyrd? The...

Any particular 80s books you recommend? I think its actually really simple on these, with 1st Apocalypse, Sinister, Gambit, Rocket, Venom etc etc. There will of course be many hidden gems that pop up later that will have more relevance than they do now, but at the prices you can buy in raw or slabb...

Re: Undervalued Gems
I think Marvel Bronze Age keys are a good choics as they can have big price swings and when there is a lack of interest you can grab them for cheap. Back in 2011, I was able to pick up cgc 9.4 copies of Hero for Hire 1, Marvel Premiere 15, and Marvel Spotlight #5 for under $2500. With recent intere...

Re: Undervalued Gems
It was originally a mistake/correction/adjustment that there was a "gray Hulk" in Hulk #1 (1962) and a "green Hulk" in Hulk #2 (1962), but the storyline has separated the two types of Hulk (and other colors) for decades. As a result, the first Hulk is definitely Hulk #1 and the ...
