I don't think much of V2, but I think a lot of Christopher Priest and Q&W while vastly preferring V1 to V2. I don't think anyone can deny that when Valiant comes up at mainstream comic boards, the subject of Quantum & Woody is raised just as much as Magnus, Harbinger, Solar, etc. It was a very ...

Rai would be an amazing film, but I can't think of a way to currently do it where it wouldn't come off to the average, un-initiated filmgoer as at least derivative of The Matrix, or Aeon Flux or whatever else. I think the way to do that might be to do it a la Beowulf or the French CG film ...

The flaw in that Grant Morrison argument, "poor DC, they let mean old Morrison ruin Countdown" is that Countdown has pretty much sucked from the word go. He could only improve things. The promise of Morrison writing Final Crisis is all that made me hang in there.

I understand part of the argument ...

Valiant at its best was IMO not a PG-13 line. It was subversive and adult without having to always underline it.

And the fact is, IMO, that new books will not capture an audience unless there are major talents initially attached.

Didn't Jim state somewhere that his intention for Harbinger was to do the "anti X-Men"? That's why I'm opposed to any big director of spectacle or big composer like Williams or Elfman. It should be a more rough and ready, handheld, indie-type of film, depicting the kids on the road, who just happen ...

Hopefully they can emulate the failed WS revamp - poach great talent like Morrison and co. - but not fall short where Jim Lee did (by only having two or three issues of the two flagship titles come out in three years).

Regardless of anyone's feelings on V2 I would kill to see another Valiant book ...

Ratner is the epitome of "subpar". I think his picture is next to the word in the dictionary. While I'm happy it's being considered for film treatment, Harbinger is my favorite Valiant book and I'd want to see it in better hands. Also, it ...

Daniel Acuna

I always expected Albert to return someday as some petulant minor cosmic being. I still would not be surprised were the line to return.

I do hope the "new character" advertised is a lead in to new books. I'm not sure it would be advertised as such if not.

When I think of Valiant I think first of Harbinger. It's the book that got me into the VU all those years ago. Solar and Magnus are absolutely essential IMHO, yes, but Harbinger is too, and I think it would be one of, if not the most immediately marketable and promising properties were the VU to ...

Out of curiosity: How could Ivar have stopped Seleski from becoming Solar? Doesn't Ivar's existence - and the existence of all the Anni-Padas, and all other 'supers' in the VU - necessitate Solar's existence, and his accidental remaking of the universe?

I am biased towards Keith Giffen. Though I am not that familiar with his classic Justice League stuff, I grew up with and loved Giffen's otherwise very, very unpopular run writing the volume 4 "adult Legion" with the Bierbaums, in the days when the team was all thirtysomething, unshaven and in ...

I suspect some people thought Plasm was just too esoteric. I know when I was a kid and I picked it up b/c it was connected to Valiant, the concepts and dialogue, like those in Solar, went way over my head at the time and I was fairly intimidated. Re-reading it a while back I thought it was brilliant ...

WEHT:Kris, Zephyr and Sting(s)?

Question:

Am I wrong or is Kris never seen in the present-day timeline after Harbinger #25 (which, along with the surrounding prior issues, had an absolutely nonsensical plot) ? Are we to assume she's in Harbinger Foundation custody like Faith was after the changeover? It doesn't make sense for ...

I remember all the heavy promotion for VH1 Ninjak due to the Quesada art, etc. I never got around to reading it - the most I saw of Ninjak back then was in the Deathmate books - but I finally picked up #1 the other day in a 50-cent sale (along with a lot of pre-Unity and the first issue of The ...

Wait - post-Crisis, Clark and Diana lifted Thor's hammer? Was this during Busiek's JLA/Avengers? I believe they're one and the same, right? The origin story?
