Re: Mattel loses DC action figure license in 2020
The best part of the multiverse line was the build-a-figure parts. Who in Valiant would be worthy of the build-a-figure?

Re: Dark Magic & the UK Punk Scene Collide in Punk Mambo #1
I know Bunn has let me down on Lobo and Carnage, but I don't think Punk Mambo has enough history that I'll be disappointed. The art is good in black and white, and I hope Bunn is giving it his all. I hope his editors have said, 'rock it'. Because his creator-owned stuff is always top notch.

At Valiant, we courageously opened the doors to emerging creators, in order to elevate characters to new heights.

yesterday's shake up had me on the fence finally (or officially, I can't decide). But Abnett, Bunn, B Clay this is awesome and entirely unexpected news. When added to my excitement for Livewire and Live and Death of, it's impossible to jump ship right now.

Re: Anyone know what else is getting canceled?
Shadowman is ending with #11. Last solicit said final issue.
i was just guessing. i had not read that issue yet.
they need to just write 12 issue stories and thats it. im tired of them writing like its a ongoing monthly and canceling it. then it feels incomplete.
I actually agree with you ...

I prefer it to be because of sales, rather than the new regime wanting a different take, or to oust all who were chosen before.

I was going to include 52, Countdown, and Identity Crisis (which I hadn't read yet--but recall a lot of what went down in my Green Arrow readings). I'm hoping to better understand Final Crisis this time through, with all my recent Morrison re-reads, it should make more sense... should... I might ...

Re: EXCLUSIVE: Valiant's The Forgotten Queen returns
Looks cool. The name change makes sense. It's redundant to have two lead characters with "War" in the name when we already have War Mother. It's similar to the Faith/Zephyr situation. I wonder if the mini-series will reveal her real name. I dig the redesigned outfit on the last cover. She looks a ...

I just finished Walt Simonsons Thor run.
Hadn’t ever read any Thor before and thought it was excellent.
Some fantastic moments throughout, and a very compelling Asgard. I never found the Asgard or side characters in the movies(Thor 1 and 2) to be that interesting.

That is the truth. I think it’s fair to say that the video games brought very few readers.

Valiant really needs to stop smelling it's own farts. The covers certainly aren't better now. Nothing is.

yeah, they're no 'textless' DC covers, that's for sure...
it's kind of scary how bad the bloodshot ones are... XO is at least a fun style that isn't trying to be taken seriously. But I wouldn't run out for any of them, and would be disappointed if one was in my pull box.

Re: Alex Paknadel Reveals Your First Look at Valiant’s Incur
Stunning art. Interesting story. But this is a puff piece. How would the author know what the comic is is without reading it, and it’s not done. Lots of conclusions without any knowledge. There is what Valiant wants, but you never know what it is until it’s done. Silly.

Well, one of the things we’ve been talking about in the Valiant Beyond Initiative is Incursion. Incursion is a mini-series that is going to be written by Andy Diggle and we brought on co-writer Alex Paknadel, and so now the two of them are gonna be writing it together. Alex Paknadel has a lot of ...
