I’d be happy to split with Magnus or take the lot.

P.S., thank you for the kind words. It is a labor of love. Scanning, organizing, etc is really an investment, and it’s nice to hear someone else enjoy it. I’d love to share the rarities in my collection.

Re: Magnus 0 CGC 9.9

We should put together a list of them somewhere. Mine is a work in progress - valiant.fan. Hopefully I can get it updated once I get access to my collection again. Your website is amazing. 1,740 Valiant slabs. That's incredible. I crack just over a 1,000 slabs and I though that was pretty good but ...

Re: Was everyone sleeping on this?

I’ve also been a believer that a 9.6 Acclaim or VEI book is like a 9.8 V1 book. I love grabbing cheap Acclaim 9.6s.

This Shadowman 9.6 is a $150 book. It’s a hard one to find raw. Maybe it’s worth a press.

Very cool of you, that's the right thing to do. :thumb: It's now sold.

I've given some thought to paring down a few things in my collection. If I decide to move my remaining set I'll give you first shot @ the blue variant.

Re: Unity golden ticket books

I am surprised that you couldn't give the ticket to someone else. Had you won SuperBowl tickets you would be able to give/scalp them to someone else. Didn't the rich kid in Charlie in the Chocolate factory pay a bunch of people to unwrap chocolate bars so that the person who found the ticket would ...

Re: Case of 100 Deathmate books on eBay

10 cases! Shipping is $76 for me, which is nutso!

I know a guy with a case of 500 X-O 0s or something along those lines. He bought them new and it's still sealed. He just can't bring himself to sell them at a reasonable price.

I have a blue cape figure available, still sealed on card. If either of you gentlemen wish to PM an offer please feel free - Btw, there are 3 versions: 1) White Cape (common) 2) Blue Cape (scarce variant) 3) White Cape w/black Woody logo - (highly rare - employee exclusive?) Very interested, but as...

Re: Was everyone sleeping on this?

I haven't checked ComicLink in a while. I would have definitely drove that price higher. If the buyer is interested in making a profit, pm me. Agreed - I never really follow ComicLink auctions - that's definitely a case where being the only one to see the auction paid off well. A comiclink employee...

Re: Unity golden ticket books

I don't even know what they might look like, so I'd probably miss it if I found it. Are there pictures? Look for "gold ticket" in gold near the bar code on the cover. I think its the cover. I won the mail in portion of the contest. Did you keep your golden ticket or did you have to turn it in to be...

Re: CGC Spinner Rack

Most of the books I bought as a kid were on spinner racks. They are horrible for condition. The books were often pulled forward while still in the slot so that you could see the different books behind them. This made huge spine creases at a specific point in the book. You can often tell if a 1980's ...

I never looked at the census numbers for those books. I think a good number of them were books I submitted personally, or ones that I acquired (for Cheese 1 and Adventure of the O).

Never knew about the Spanish Kenny Kid books in 9.8! Wow!

Correct. I do not know what the X-O Brushed Metal print run was. Someone will need to ask Dinesh for that one.

We can reasonably suspect a similar number, but as it was the “first” it will be difficult to guess.
I recall Dinesh stating 200, but I can’t recall.

Re: What happened to the reasonable slab prices on eBay?

I have been looking at eBay lately and am not seeing any reasonable you priced Pre-Unity 9.8 slab? What happened? I mean the Bloodshot movie happened, but it doesn’t explain high prices for Solar and Magnus? My impression is that people put their collections up on eBay and say to themselves, "I'll ...

Re: What comics are you reading now?

I just read the Absolute slipcover edition of Batman Year One. I picked that off the spinner rack back in 1986 every month, and this is the first time I read it since then. Absolutely fabulous!

I just finished the Watchmen tv show. Outstanding!

This is pretty cool. If I had space to have one of these (well away from any windows, of course), I would totally get one.

Don’t choose! If you need to make a choice, dump the issues. Deluxe editions are better for return reading. If you need the issues that aren’t in deluxe format, you can grab a papaerback later.

Does anyone ever remember Frank Miller signing any Valiant comics in the 90s? I haven’t really noticed any of his sigs on Valiant comics through the years until more recently (I’ve seen CGC SS Valiants done within the last few years). Back in the day, did he freely sign (ala Shooter and Layton)?......

I can’t recall who bought the 9.9. I’m kicking myself for not buying it.

I did get an Eternity 1 9.9, which is my favorite VEI cover. I think the art in that series was the best so far, and David’s colors were so smart.

If 750 HW2 metal books were produced, I haven’t seen them. It’s a very hard book to come by.

The gold books were typically printed in batches of 2000. The last several years, they have been pretty banged up by getting shipped from con to con.

Such a tough place to easily show images. One of my all time favorites is Mico Suayan's Ninjak 6 cover. I really like the Armor Hunters megacover, by Diego Bernard. I have the original inks for that one. 4 panels big. The Ninjak vs. Valiant Universe poster is also a favorite. It finally made it to b...
