Re: Lazarus

how is the second arc compared to the first? I picked up the trade and liked it so I'm curious as to how the next issues stack up. Haven't heard anything negative so far.. so I'm guessing I'll probably just buy it when the vol 2 hits. I just finished reading the second trade, which comprises issues...

Re: Am I done with Marvel?

And look I'm against the New 52, it took everything except for Batman and Green Lantern and tossed in the garbage. So when Superman is out sold by friggin Harley Quinn we've got issues. I don't know how it's the New 52's fault that Harley Quinn is selling so well... It is editorial's fault for putt...

Re: What comics are you reading now?

No Invincible? Is it any good? Contrary to my pull-list I'm not the biggest Kirkman fan. I really just like TWD (and I like the show a lot more than the comic). And I've kind of heard bad things about it... Like it's too overly-obsessed with blood and gore and death? Idk.. I've read the first few i...

Re: What comics are you reading now?

I gravitate more towards superheroes and multi-comic universes (Marvel, DC, Valiant) than creator-owned single series. . No Invincible? Is it any good? Contrary to my pull-list I'm not the biggest Kirkman fan. I really just like TWD (and I like the show a lot more than the comic). And I've kind of ...

Re: Bagged and Boarded?

I have some Mylar. If I could afford it for all my books, I would. Changing out yellow/pee green bags and boards gets gross. Mylar always looks the same. Mylar can grey out. I assume it's if you leave your comics in a high temperature environment for a long time (ie, hot summer weather). None of my...

Re: Bagged and Boarded?

Hey folks, I've been wondering for a while now; what is it about bagging and boarding comics that protects them? Obviously it keeps them separate from each other and less likely to crease etc, but I've seen things like 'non-acidic card' written down here and there, so presumeably it's to stop colou...

Re: HUGE DC rumor

Any chance they ditch the New 52 by having another "Crisis" type event and reboot totally? Better question: Do I care? I was going to be nice and not comment, but Bugsy took the words right out of my mouth!!! I will say Didio is a nice enough guy, but he has single handedly ruined DC for ...

Re: What comics are you reading now?

I read Spread yesterday. Decent, but I think there are some obvious comparisons to TWD and Manifest Destiny. Could help it if readers want more of that sort of thing, or hurt if people think it's a knock off/riding on the coattails of the success of similar books. Will give it a few issues to see w...

Re: Harbinger Wars Deluxe Edition ----release date?

Captain Craig, Can you let me know what the reading order is in the book once you get it? The only reason I ask about this is because I have a feeling that the book might have the 1970's pages in the beginning, before any of the present day stuff. I'm surprised no one answered you yet (Unless they ...

#13 out today! Can't wait to read it! +1 - I glanced through it & saw the Ranger in the first few pages... Excited for this! I saw someone say something about Ranger and Death on Twitter today and really wished I'd slacked off some last night and read it. (I was up until 4AM catching up on pape...

PunisherMax by garth Ennis. This was some great reading here, I never was much into the punisher as a kid but this is a great collection. The last arc or 2... I don't think were the best... but I don't remember being disgusted at the end so it couldnt have been THAT bad  i've read the first th...

Harbinger Wars Deluxe Edition ----release date?

Does anyone know when the deluxe edition of Harbinger Wars is coming out? It was originally slated for May 28, which is still the date posted on the Valiant Comics website....Most places have the release date as June 10, which obviously means the book's delayed. Is there any word on when the book wi...

Re: What comics are you reading now?

So I finished the second Saga trade. It's really good, but the unnecessary graphic sex is totally ruining it for me (I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but it really frustrates me). The deformed giant penis was the least offensive example - the worst is the crap that pops up on the Android princ...

Re: East of West Thread---WOW!!

Yet another fantastic issue, for sure. The world-building and characterization continues with Hickman's signature slow-burn style. Who has read #12? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Of course I did. Didn't post about it because I was up late reading Divergent with my wife (great book btw). I really enjoyed...

Re: Bloodshot and HARDCorps #21 discussion

Wow, I must be the only one that enjoys the HardCorps. Maybe you Bloodshot fans will enjoy a solo book, maybe not, but I'd miss Hardcorps if they are dumped. As for this issue, I thought it was sloppy and rushed. Bloodshot stabs Armstrong in the head, and next thing you know, they're both buddy bud...

Very cool 1st end of credits scene introducing Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch as well as a certain Baron . Before they were shown, I was assuming Baron Von Strucker was talking about Fenris (Andrea & Andreas Von Strucker).....Obviously, that wasn't the case when they were shown. I wondered if it...

Re: Captain America #100 found at a flea market

That seems pricy to overpriced for that grade. I generally find flea market books overpriced, and sometimes vastly so. Still, a classic book and a key Cap issue. They are not easy to find. I know you said generally, but it depends. I bought some key Uncanny X-Men issues in VF or NM (both issues of ...

Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Modern Comics

17K is high numbers? Explain how EoW #1 is a $10 book at almost 50K copies... :? I think 17k is far above the median for an image book (and certainly above the average of all major comics put out)....and I've seen a lot of EOW books go unsold for slightly more than cover. I can think of many 'hot b...
