Re-Reading: X-O Manowar #7 (Unity)
I thought we could do a book a day (that way people can read one every day or catch up on weekends), talk about it on its own, in the context of whats next, in regards to what expectations it creates and vote on how good it is. I don't have to be the one that posts everyday. If I miss a day or if someone wants to take over please do
For voting think of your single favourite comic book (not just VALIANT) as the benchmark - thats a 10 - and grade according to that.
Make sure to mention what you like'd about the book, what you didn't, what you wish they would have done, your favourite panels, lines of dialogue, little bits of trivia etc.

A really simple issue.
We establish our characters. The scene between Ken and Aric was interesting once again showing Aric's nobility even when he does do something shocking. And running Conan gag was funny.
Then we go to the Lost Land and basically have Aric kick a$$ for the rest of the issue. Oh, there's a little bit in here about defining Aric's morality but mainly it's Aric slugging it out with big mean dinosaurs. The main goal is to create exciting fight scenes that make Aric look bad a$$ and it works.
Could've been more going on here but the issue accomplishes what it set out to do so I'll give it an 8.

Now we're back to intelligent story-telling. And we get to see how the amazement most would feel for the Lost Land is nicely offset by all wonders Aric has already seen. Both the scenes in our world and the scenes in Lost Land show well how he would react, and how he makes his own rules, not caring much what other might think. Great issue.
