Don Perlin is sick - PLEASE send emails to him!!!

Post by k_c_collectibles »

Hey guys,

As some of you know Bob Layton is close to Don Perlin. Here is the email I received from from Bob earlier today:

Uncle Don has been very ill for the last month and is currently being hospitalized for complications after surgery. Although he's expected to recover, recovery has been slow and I know that an encouraging word or two from fans and colleagues would do wonders for the healing process.
I urge you to post this info wherever you can and ask everyone to send him a 'get well' e-mail at:
DPerlin@bellsouth.net

How about it troops - can everyone here send him a get well email?

I had the chance to work with Don once; he also did some sketches for me last year.

Great guy to work with ... very professional. Here's hoping he's up and around very soon.

I can't remember if you ever showed those to us or not. If you haven't, post them sometime when you get the chance.

Becky Perlin (Don's wife) called me this morning...

Don will be home tomorrow and will continue his rehab AT HOME. This comes as GREAT news this morning and as I have spoken with Don while he was having some 'rough' times in the hospital, I know that he cannot wait to get back home.

Well I have to tell you guys... Don is one of my most favorite people on the planet. He has been so good to my family and ALWAYS ends each conversation with 'how is the little girl doing', which lead us into 10 more minute of talking about Alyssa.

Don has entertained me with hours of 'Valiant talk' and in depth stories about his career and moments during the Valiant days. To have him in the hospital has really torn me up in more ways than you can know. Just knowing this great man has made me a better person and given me incredible perspective on life and comics.

Don is truly a treasure and I for one am truly happy that he has been making a 'remarkable recovery' as quoted and look forward to his journey home just in time for the holidays.

I cannot tell you how much that "I" appreciate the support that has been given to Don during his rough times. If there was a person who loved his time at Valiant it was Don Perlin. Thanks everybody...

It's nice to see that Don is recovering before Christmas, I just hate the thought of someone spending Christmas in a hospital room.
