It's for sale if you are interested! Will wrote: True. This is cool. Their Chaos Effect cover was one of the better ones, also.

Thanks, I own the inks but I stay away from color art. Too much of it has been sold as the "real deal" and ended up VE card color art (or worse). It's a beautiful piece, thoughsonicdan wrote:It's for sale if you are interested! Will wrote: True. This is cool. Their Chaos Effect cover was one of the better ones, also.![]()

I can understand your position esp. with all the confusion surrounding original colors etc. Will wrote: Thanks, I own the inks but I stay away from color art. Too much of it has been sold as the "real deal" and ended up VE card color art (or worse). It's a beautiful piece, though
Personally I love collecting them and at times find them to be more attractive & desireable than the inks.
FYI, This particular piece I have carefully compared against the printed version and can vouch for it's authenticity as the real deal.
The scan is a bit cropped due to size, but anyone looking can probably come up with the same conclusion as me.
Thanks!

Owning a pair might be worth making an exceptionWill wrote:Thanks, I own the inks but I stay away from color art. Too much of it has been sold as the "real deal" and ended up VE card color art (or worse). It's a beautiful piece, though

I'll take the chance to list the risks I've seen so far. As "extra color art", there has been card and ad art, plus an unknown category, which might be practice or forgeries (at San Diego we were told of a find of such art, it is unknown if it ever made it to the market). For the latter, it helps to know the provenece of the art. Otherwise the most difficult is the card art. That was most of the time deliberately made to look as close to the real cover as possible, and the card artists were very skilled in making it look similar. Some small differences can usually be found, but the reproduction itself and final work in preproduction could also cause differences.
A late cover like this however, should be no risk. There wasn't any seperate card art for it and ad art usually is not as similar to the cover as card art would have been. And as Dan says, it is exactly the same in every detail.
It would be cool if you posted your ink art for everyone to see the scans together.
