Bob Hall signing new Shadowman work?

Post by Heath »

I've been out of the loop for a long time, but just saw this on Facebook:
Bob Hall.png
Maybe my searching skills are weak, but I just can't find much information about what this "story" he refers to is. Can someone fill me in? Slidell isn't too far of a drive for me, and I may never get a chance to meet Bob Hall again, so I'm seriously considering going.

Nice! He will be at Phoenix Fan Fusion later this month. Looking forward to meeting him and getting a few Shadowman books signed for the PC.

Do we know anything about the story? Is it VH1 Shadowman? If so, does it take place after he jumps the roof? Excited, sorry for all the questions lolz

Very excited about this one - very cool to see Bob back for a new story! Hoping I can nab a copy of it at some point, I wasn’t planning on going out to my LCS for FCBD this year.

Good questions, I assumed it would be the current Shadowman who's on the cover, but who knows at this point. There doesn't seem to be a lot of continuity.
From legendary SHADOWMAN creator Bob Hall, Valiant's FCBD SHADOWMAN new story delves into the secret past of Valiant's premier horror character.

Nice catch. Cool to see his Darque looks like the classic version and lots of Sax action. I don't know much about the current SM, it's the same one introduced in the Justin Jackson/Zircher series? I know there's VH2 Deadside and the sickle.

Far as I know, it is. I lost track years ago, unfortunately. Wasn't able to keep up with it.

It's not that bad. At least Jack is playing the sax again.

Same. Whatever it is, they should give Bob a crack at a new ongoing series. He made that character work.

Definitely. Even if it's just as a writer.

I got to meet Bob Hall, get some autographs and prints from him, and chat with him a bit. Such a cool guy. I'm glad I took this little adventure today!

Jesus, they refuse to go down!

Bringing back Bob Hall like this is totally unexpected... even though it's only a short story.

It's good to see someone at Valiant still seems to care.

Now I just need to get my hands on a copy asap.

It's a short origin story to promote the video game that was also announced in the comic. Felt like a mix of the original and current so a fun read. The video game marketing felt pretty rough draft.

I made it to the signing. Last year I finally found a 2012 Harbinger Wars/ Shadowman Blank Flip Book. It took me years to finally get one. I brought it with me and was hesitant to get a commission done on it (since this book is so darn hard to find). Anyway, I went ahead and got the commission… and I am glad that I did.
