With chapter 5 we've reached what translates to one issues worth of content.
If you are reading along, I would like to hear some thoughts on everything we've done so far. What are your perceptions of the story? What do you like? Not like?
If you are not reading. Why not? |

I think it is very good.
I think there is enough "meat" of the story to lay down the foundation, and enough questions to keep me intrested.
Honestly, the first bit has been better than the last bit..... but both have been very good.
Hopefully the next few installments will give some more answers to the questions, of who, why, and ....... Darque. |

I really like the artwork and the writing is interesting as well. I honestly can't think of anything to critique, really. The story line seems well thought out and keeps you looking forward to the next installment. That's more than I can say for some of the later Valiant issues. You guys are doing a good job so far, keep it up.
Kudos to all involved for putting this together for us to read. |

My only questions are this:
I read somewhere that VEI has commissioned this meaning it could be part of the cannon if that is the case will be ever be available in an official printed form (ie. single issues, TPB, or HC)?
2) How many issues are there to this story? |

I am enjoying the story. The inking and being in black and white helps with the mood of the story, which I find rather dark.
The primary issue I am having is that it is difficult for me to figure out who is who.... (who each of the characters are in the story). Fred Bender was easy, So was Clay McHenry. But there are several characters who I do not recognize. |

I think I read in one of the other forums that this is purely fanfic. If that's true, it's kind of disappointing, because it's been pretty good so far. The exact kind of thing I'd like to see VEI lead off with.
As for opinions... I think that pretty much says it. The only think I would like to see is more than five pages at a time... but that's just me being greedy.
I really hope there is some plans at some time to color this and print it. I'd love to own a physical copy. |

This is a great project!!! Im very impressed with the amount of time and energy you guys are putting into this project just for fun and a little notoriety
What I would like to see.. color is cool, but not necessary. What I want more is for some amazing person to take ALL the pages and set them up to print off so I can put a staple or two in it and call it a book
Great job guys!! Very good job, indeed!!! |

This story was created at the request of VEI. The door has been left open that this could become cannon but as of right now it is not.
Coloring and a print version are also possible in the future.
The story will run between 15 and 20 chapters. I'm shooting for 15 with a couple epilogues. |

Can you give me more than that? I don't want to be too greedy when love is being thrown around, but what do you love?
What I would really like to see is some discussion between readers about the story. |

I just went back and re-read Chapters #1-5. It's kind of like waiting for the trade paperback and reading it all at once, gives you a much more cohesive understanding of the story.
The quality of the work is just outstanding. I think the writing is top notch, particularly the characterization of the different players. From Hwen and Carmen's playfulness with each other, to Gilad's devotion to his duty and somewhat cocky attitude, to Dr. Eclipse's crazy, funny comments and Clay's uncertainty about himself, it's easy to tell these are the same characters we've been reading about in Valiant comics all these years.
Stu's art has been consistently good, but we all knew how good his stuff was. It's also great to see he can tell a story very well visually. Also, the little in-jokes peppered here and there are great, not overdone, though.
Chris has done an excellent job with the lettering, a job that doesn't grab the headlines, but is very important to the success of any comic story.
Story elements I am interested in or have questions about:
In Chapter 1, what was the significance of the "God" character's constant shape shifts? He seemed to be various different mish-mashes of VALIANT characters. Not sure if there was a deeper meaning to that.
The other question is: What happened to the other heroes. We have references to so many already being lost. What happened to them? Since it's 1997, I guess Jack Boniface should still be alive. Archer and Armstrong in the Lost Land? I'm assuming maybe something happened to Geoff in this story that we didn't see happen in the regular Valiant books.
The Globe splash page in Chapter One mainly shows characters that haven't appeared in the story yet. Are these the characters that have been "lost"?
Like I said, a great job so far by all parties involved. Thanks, guys! |

i think that you guys are doing a terrific job...i do agree that at times i am confused about who is who...but it seems that it might be intentional-as in intentionally mysterious.
my only critiques would be that in the beginning it was a little wordy and at times the story jumps around...but i agree with those who have said that they would purchase a copy, and that each installment leaves me anticipating the next...2 things that most books out today do not do for me! |

That's exactly what we want.
Now to figure out what can be answered without giving the whole thing away. . . |
