Yesterday I bought my very first pre-Unity Magnus (#13)
This post might technically belong on another forum, but this is a big deal for me. I've been looking for pre-Unity every chance I find... which isn't a ton.
I thought it was my first pre-Unity of any kind, but just remembered a few early Solars I picked up but haven't had time to read.
Usually the price asked for for pre-Unity is too high for my blood. But this was a dollar or less and in a protector sleeve, even.

I've been looking everywhere for the ultra-rare Turok vs Blister issue. Anybody able to help me out?

Keep us posted on how it’s going!
Valiant is the son of the New Universe.

Re: Yesterday I bought my very first pre-Unity Magnus (#13)
I just checked and it was 20 cents!!!
But no polybag, so there's that.
I need to read the thing, too. I can't wait but paradoxically can't seem to find the time.
That day I also picked up my very first Gold Key book. There was no Gold Key Three and I didn't want to spend the money for known properties like Flash Gordan and Son of Tarzan, so for 95 cents I grabbed DAGAR THE INVINCIBLE although I don't see an issue number. Was it a one-shot?
That day I also discovered the Deathmate Pink is not actually an issue, only a "preview"

Dagar is a fun series, the issue numbers for Gold Key comics are hidden in the fine print on page one. As for pre-Unity, try to track down Magnus 1-4, Solar 1-4, Harbinger 1-4, and X-O 1-2. Those all read like blockbuster movies that really get the Valiant universe ball rolling.Oxmyx wrote: so for 95 cents I grabbed DAGAR THE INVINCIBLE although I don't see an issue number. Those old 60s Gold Keys are just fun comics to read.Oxmyx wrote:I just checked and it was 20 cents!!!

Glad to see people are still hunting down the early stuff and finding good deals.
