Which Marvel storylines haven’t been used in a movie yet and are most likely to be used in a future movie?

Avengers vs X-Men. I give it ten years at most, maybe only five, from the first MCU X-Men movie.
VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

Is that the old mini-series you’re referring to?leonmallett wrote:Avengers vs X-Men. I give it ten years at most, maybe only five, from the first MCU X-Men movie.

Or more likely AvX

Re: Which Marvel storylines haven’t been used yet in a movie
I would say AvX, Hope is mentioned in Deadpool 2, and nothing screams Big Bucks like the Phoenix Force Five. I hated that story's ending and what it did to the Marvel line of books, even if it is indeed a Big "I gotta watch this" concept for a movie or even 2. And nobody will care about that story if it is not built with strong foundations (solo movies that people will actually like).leonmallett wrote:StarBrand wrote:Is that the old mini-series you’re referring to?leonmallett wrote:Avengers vs X-Men. Here's that Captain Marvel of all things is going to have the first mutant cameo. Just a closing scene with a damn good-looking lady going "Hello, shugah- name's Danvers right? Ah could just kiss you..."

I am not suggesting AvX based on quality or execution, but simply on the likelihood.ShadowTuga wrote:I would say AvX, Hope is mentioned in Deadpool 2, and nothing screams Big Bucks like the Phoenix Force Five. What occurs to me is that beats and threads of stories are taken on by Marvel studios, but not stories whole cloth.
I am not so sure they would use Captain Marvel to seed the mutants - not when they have another movie coming up with potential reality-changing moments.

That was just my fanboyish wishful thinking, not expecting them to have something out before Avengers.leonmallett wrote:I am not suggesting AvX based on quality or execution, but simply on the likelihood.ShadowTuga wrote:I would say AvX, Hope is mentioned in Deadpool 2, and nothing screams Big Bucks like the Phoenix Force Five. Re: Which Marvel storylines haven’t been used yet in a movie
Basically 99% of Marvel stories ever written.
Outside of some inspirational source material pulled from the books, not much of what we've seen on film has been fully pulled from the books beyond those key beats.
All things said in this regard, all three Iron Man movies have been a complete disaster. Maybe Winter Soldier was the closest to the printed page?

The Hulk storyline from 272-300, Hulk goes from Banner intelligent, pardoned by the president and everything for past rampages, into a steady downward spiral toward the mindless, bestial rage fueled monster --- a Nightmare indeed...

It's the mother of all long shots but what about any story using Squadron Supreme? I only say it as a joke but I remember when rumors were flying that Cavil was done as Superman and everyone said he should play Captain Britain but I've seen a few that say he should be brought to the MCU as Hyperion as the ultimate screw you kind of thing.

They made that movie already, but they called it Watchmen for some reason. It was also a bit more melodramatic than the original Squadron story.dornwolf wrote:It's the mother of all long shots but what about any story using Squadron Supreme? Re: Which Marvel storylines haven’t been used yet in a movie
I don't know how likely these are but I'll throw them out there.
The Trial of Reed Richards
Secret Wars
And if we ever get Namor, maybe The Avengers / Defenders War, where Loki and Dormammu hide the pieces of the Evil Eye around the world and the teams race to collect them. The big moment there was when Thor and Hulk squared off... and it was the most boring stalemate ever... just the two of them locking hands in combat, unable to budge the other.
We've actually seen the Evil Eye in Dr Strange. The newly minted Dr Strange is fighting a villain in Strange's Manhattan residence, and he picks it up from a display case, intending to use it as a cudgel. The villain smiles and says "You don't know how to use that, do you?"
