Yes, LCSD is similar to FCBD, I do not know how your Local could participate though. I know I will have to go through a separate shop because my LCS does not participate in LCSD.Sunlight on Snow wrote:Sweet!

Probably not on Amazon, but it looks like last year there were lots of shops participating in Europe. It didn't look like any in Spain, but you might be able to convince a shop to look into it.Ibero wrote:Umm, just to be clear, there is no way this is going to be in amazon spain to buy right. Damn.

All a shop has to do to participate is have a Diamond account and pay ComicsPRO $29.

Sooo, they have to pay 29, and then they would be able to order the hc, or is just 29 for the hardcover?

It sounds like an additional $29 to register so a shop can participate and order all the exclusive items.Ibero wrote:jeremycoe wrote:Except ... nothing's freeTheeBaldMoose wrote:Yes, LCSD is similar to FCBD, I do not know how your Local could participate though. Betting we will have at least one comic book shop owner/manager on here that would be able to arrange something...Ibero wrote:Ah, i thats what i thought. Thank you both. Re: Oversized Hardcover For Local Comic Shop
Maybe, but that'd be against the spirit of LCSD. It's supposed to get you into a physical retail location. I don't think DCBS has offered these items in past years, but I could be wrong.TheeBaldMoose wrote:Betting we will have at least one comic book shop owner/manager on here that would be able to arrange something...Ibero wrote:Ah, i thats what i thought. It's not DCBS's fault they are my LCS even though I've never been to Fort Wayne IN.

Re: Oversized Hardcover For Local Comic Shop
It's not that simple, but a store has to pay for participating, and THEN order the HC and other items from different publishers. That store is also NOT ALLOWED to sell for 30 days anywhere but their physical location. So, I can not do what I really want to do, which is tell ALL OF YOU, Hey go ahead and pre-order with us.Ibero wrote: Sooo, they have to pay 29, and then they would be able to order the hc, or is just 29 for the hardcover?
What I CAN do is tell you to PM me and we can discuss arrangements if you want to make sure you get that HC.

Never do that. It's their choice to participate or not, you should not have to pay the fee.otomo wrote:Hopefully my LCS won't make me pay for the registration fee AND full retail for the HC ><
ALSO, they have to register, it's not just a fee.

Re: Oversized Hardcover For Local Comic Shop
DCBS is not able to solicit it for pre-order. The point of this event is that on that day, and for 30 days after, the item is for local sales at the brick and mortar store, not online. If they find out that it's sold other way, they won't let you participate the following years.Ibero wrote: Maybe dcbs will have it, and i can order it with the monthly books to reduce the shipping costs

I called my LCS yesterday, and they said their shouldn't be any issue obtaining it for me. So it doesn't sound like it will be too difficult.

Re: Oversized Hardcover For Local Comic Shop
No it should not if your LCS participates in the LCSD. Most do not as they don't see benefit. To be honest, I was considering not doing it this year either, it's a miserable exercise that nets no effect in the store, it just does not work. The HC announced made me reconsider, it's a nice package.tchalla8 wrote:I called my LCS yesterday, and they said their shouldn't be any issue obtaining it for me. If you are planning to use my LCS as the place to purchase this book, I recommend PM'ing me to discuss it soon.

Re: Oversized Hardcover For Local Comic Shop
Have they posted what this is to cost? I wonder if it'll be $25 like the previous 4-issue deluxe editions, or more since the bigger HCs were raised to $50. Or maybe this will be more because of the special nature of this release.

jeremycoe, have you found anyone in the area that is participating (providing you are still living in Seattle)? The two biggest ones (that I know of) will not (Olympic Cards and Comics & Comics Dungeon). If you do, please PM me the location so I can order onejeremycoe wrote:Have they posted what this is to cost? I do not and have never lived in Seattle or the PNW. I've only even been in Seattle once when Microsoft flew me in for an interview. It looks like last year Golden Age Collectables, Zanadu Comics, and DreamStrands Comics all participated. I'd check with them.TheeBaldMoose wrote:jeremycoe, have you found anyone in the area that is participating (providing you are still living in Seattle)?
